I'm finding out, again, that the prius has what most cars have, and more. Currently i'm renting a Nissan Murano. it sucks. It runs with a v6 and a cvt. It has a sports mode that doesn't change anything. It's still 10 seconds from 0-60.... same as my prius... but reving and then going has an actual effect with my prius. the prius gets better gas mileage. it tracks more useful info on the screen too. oh yeah.. it cost less and the prius is more comfortable. my opinion to everyone... get the prius. unless you value 4x4.. then get the lexus

Our 2004 Prius has mirrors on both visors with slide covers and ceiling mounted lights with control switches. The lights come on when the visor is down and the sliding cover opened. The sliding covers assure that the lights will extinguish when the slide is closed so as to not tax the quite small 12v battery (not the 201 volt traction main battery).
Yeah. So you can leave the vanity light in the ON position and it'll shut off when the sliding mirror cover is closed or you move the visor out of position (e.g. to the side). Otherwise, if you rarely use it, you can leave the switch at OFF. It has mirrors on both side.
Switching from a '96 VW Jetta GLX to an '06 Prius Pkd #8 and looking forward to delivery in about two weeks. Looked at the new Jetta/Passat and didn't like 'em.
What didn't you like about the new Jetta and Passat? I actually like them a lot. But I've owned a VW for the past 6 years. I know their high maintenance cost and frequent and expensive trips to the dealer. I'll never buy another VW. Top of my list is a Prius, and 2nd choice WAS a Hybrid Civic, but now the new Camry's catching my eye.
as stated the passat is expensive to maintain, disappointed with mileage, actually the biggest car I ever had and I'm short. Also thinking I should sell or trade it in while it still has value. Trunk was huge which was a plus when my son was a baby and required more stuff but now that he's 5 I need way less stuff.
Yesterday I rode in a friends camry and I swear the Prius back seat has more room. The more room I have the more stuff I junk up my vehicle with. I had a minivan. I love the smallness of the Prius. I am short so it is plenty of room for me in the front. The kids (3) are good in the back. I noticed that every time the kids are in the car they fall asleep (great for Me)

The Prius has a bit more leg room than the others. The Camry has a bit more width but 30% less cargo space. I'm still not sure why the newer Prius has less listed cargo space that the older (2004/2005 - 16 ft3) as I don't think there is any actual difference. The Prius, however, whips the other 2 by 50% to 100% on mileage
To be honest, the 16 cu. ft seemed a bit overrated. Our 02 Camry had 16 cu. ft and it was BIG. Looking at the Prius, it definitely can't hold the same amount of stuff as the Camry (because of the slanted roof and even with the shallow subfloor)
