Hi Everyone I am new to this forum, and would appreciate any info or advice one can give me on adding HD Radio to my 2007 Prius. I have the JBL Premium sound system and DON'T want to change it if at all possible. I've been checking out the Dice Electronics HD Radio Integration Kit with iPod hookup. I'm wondering what experiences you all have had with this product? Does it really work with the display (I don't have a nav system)? I'd much rather have a pro install it, but no one in my area apparently does this, although I have spoken with a car audio specialist that said he might work with me to install this product. Any help would be MUCH appreciated including other options than the DICE. On a side note, I was one of the first to do the Serious Satellite thing when it came out and really disliked the fidelity (after market FM transmission). When I bought my Prius I was kind of excited that the stereo was XM ready. Well, what the he** does XM ready really mean when its a $500+ install? I'd never do that. Thanks, thanks, thanks!
I was suprised that HD radio was not an option when I purchased my 2008. I wish it was an option but it is not. I an sure that is an after market product but it would not function with the screen and it would lood diffrently from the current sysytem.
Don't know anything about the DICE unit other than what I've seen on these forums but I have seen other options out there: Peripheral Electronics note that you need to have the appropriate harness as well: Peripheral Electronics I've seen press for a unit from directed electronics but haven't seen the unit on their website. Directed Electronics - Security & Remote Start | Home Theater | Satellite Radio | Car Audio & Video I don't know anything about these units either and suggest you contact tech support for any of these products to make sure they would work as you expect them to given your specific installed radio options. Good luck!
Dont do it!!!!! My dice unit has been replaced 3 times and it still is flakey at best. Unit failure is well know. Software/firmware update has been promised for ages and still nothing.
