Out in Woodbridge, VA the cheapest place had regular for $3.37. I think it went up all the way to $3.53 the closer I got towards home. Luckily we have family out where the cheaper gas is.

My normal station here in Lincoln, CA. (Sacramento) was $3.89 for regular unleaded 2 days ago. This station is usually cheaper than the others around it so I'm sure it was over $4/ga in Fairfield where I work.

You guys think it is bad in the US you should check out our prices in the UK. Today a litre of normal unleaded is £1.10 x 4.5 = £4.95 a gallon!!! Times this by the current exchange rate $/£ and you will be shocked.
I changed to a Prius last July when I realised the price of oil would increase - best thing I ever did. The road fund licence is £15.00 a year for a Prius, compared to most average cars being £215.00. But we are being ripped off as is normal on the price - a top spec Prius is over £20,000 with no Government assistance to go green. We have to pay heavily to go green over here!
    Enjoy your cheap fuel guys!

Just hit $3.65 in So Oregon. Also, as of the 15th, all fuel is 10% Ethanol.

$3.83 in West Hollywood CA this morning. That was my first fill-up in two weeks, and I still had a little more than a half tank left. The car only took $18. So, I figure I'm only spending about $40-50/month on gas on average.

I was down the southern end of the Toxic state today. Gas was going for $3.17 a gallon right off the New Jersey Turnpike. The lines were at least 25 cars long and that's four rows worth! (Reminded me of the 70's! except for the price.) Traffic of course was going slow as it normally does late Sunday on this stretch of tarmac.
I didn't need gas, and wouldn't wait that long to save a few bucks anyway. Made me laugh at all those SUV's and soccer mom vans that were in line!!

Yesterday I noticed that Diesel is consistently up over $4.00 per gallon around here. This summer's travel and tourism season should prove to be interesting.

I wonder why gasoline is so expensive in Canada. We get a significant percentage of refined gasoline from our Northern (my Eastern) neighbors. It's perplexing that they should pay more than we do.

Actually your calculations were based on imperial galon, not US galon, so 1.10 x 3.78 = 4.15(GBP) / US GAL

4.15 BRITISH POUND (GBP) = 8.2475 US DOLLAR (USD)

    $8.25 / Gal still Ouch!!!!!:scared: :sorry:

$3.79 for the Safeway gas I use and that's before the 3 cents discount membership card. The "top tier" gas is $3.89. Last time I filled up, I pulled a receipt that showed someone filling up 26 gallons and it cost that person $98!

    guys & gals,

Saturday afternoon (4/19/08) in Bedford, NY (exit #4 off of I-684), regular (87 octane) self-serve was $3.85 & diesel was $4.65 (not really sure if that's what the diesel was, but I think so). Needless to say, I waited until I got back into CT where I paid only $3.69 in Danbury. Yesterday (4/20) my wife paid $3.41 in Springfield, Mass. And our son has been paying around $3.21 in Montclair, NJ.

Reality in Europe, glimpse of your (near?) future: here in Amsterdam gas (regular) is 1.54 euro to the litre. That equals 9.27 dollar to the American gallon.

"A million Hybrid drivers can't be wrong. If each driver travels 50 miles a day and saves a gallon of gas/petrol, then over a year they save 365 million gallons of gas. Every barrel of oil yields 25 gallons of gas, so hybrid drivers TODAY save over 14 million barrels of oil a year.......and thats just the start."

priusuk2008, this is a good observation. However, to put it in a sad perspective, 14 million barrels is less that 2 days of production in Saudi Arabia where the current production is about 9.5 million barrels per day:ban:
