when i bought the car last year, I was working from kingman,AZ and back to vegas/pahrump on odd networking jobs. I would putt 500 mi a week. 3 months later i lost that job due to certain issues with the employer. So now i work in town at a fixed location at a dental office only 4mi away. I barely put any miles on this car now! less then 150 a week anymore. Kind of negates the fuel savings/cost ratio of the car. But i still enjoy it very much. Hopefully soon I will find another job where i can travel, I saw a listing on craigs for a job in tempe 2 weeks out of the month, then I would work part time at dental office.
We've had our 2008 since late January and have about 7K miles already so on an annual basis that is about 28K miles. When we had a Honda Odyssey and a Honda C-RV they got about the same mileage so we just took whatever car was convenient. The Prius replaced the C-RV and the Odyssey stays parked for days at a time. We time our use of the Prius, I'll go somewhere while my wife waits until I return before doing her errands. So most of the family miles are now going on the Prius.
My daily commute is about 80 miles, round trip. I got my Prius about a month ago after getting tired of spending too much time and money filling up my Dodge Caravan. I am really enjoying the Prius!
Another 1K+ per week driver. About half of it is on the Interstate and the rest on a 2 lane state road. Hit 15k a week before the 4 month mark. Also hoping it goes for the long run T
just an update, got the car 3weeks ago and i already have over 3K miles...patiently waiting on my 1st oil change
I drive about 1200 miles per week driving all around NJ for my work. Car is just about paying for itself in fuel savings over my 93 Toyota Pickup.
First week of ownership 500 miles, which is our current average. 25000+ per year. Previous car was at 49000 after two years, it got half the mileage the Prius gets. Hopefully after 3 years and almost 75,000 miles we will still like it enough to get another one.......
