A question for the Oz Prius owners out there - are there any concessions/benefits for Hybrid owner in Australia as there are in the US? If not, I think we should be making some noise!
I read that Queensland had reduced the stamp duty on hybrids, but that is the only incentive I have heard about. There were a couple of questions asked when Kev got in as PM whether he would support some form of hybrid inventive (especially as he has a Prius), but maybe we just have to wait for the budget to see whether anything will actually come out. Whilst I would be happy with an incentive, I feel that we, as owners already, will miss out. I am just happy to be paying a lot less of those Govt taxes imbedded in the fuel price.
What??? Ruddy has one??? If I had have known that before... I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if he talked about getting one... but actually *doing* something? Nah... this must be a different Kev that we're talking about
He may no longer have one, but he did get one last year - see this article - Lib sharpshooters find vehicle for Rudd ridicule - Opinion - smh.com.au And just after he was voted in as PM, this article appeared: "And while he is now entitled to greater trappings of office, he drove himself to work in his Prius, dropping his youngest son, Marcus, at school and his wife, Therese Rein, at her office along the way.And while he is now entitled to greater trappings of office, he drove himself to work in his Prius, dropping his youngest sxon, Marcus, at school and his wife, Therese Rein, at her office along the way." Rudd gets to it, with vows and vision - Federal Election 2007 News So who knows, maybe he might actually do something
I've sent an email via the Contact the PM page on the ALP site. If I get any response, I'll post it. Cheers for the help, guys.
