Well, with just under 4k miles on my 2008 #7 I went off-roading this evening. Trying to do a quick U-turn (because of oncoming trafic) and nailed the center-divider with the left fromt wheel. Blew the side wall out and scrapped the wheel rim. Going to the dealer in the morning and replace the tire at least. Anyone have any experience/ideas/thoughts on this? Yes, I know I wont't in such a hurry anymore. John
Sorry to hear about your little accident.....but glad that it wasn't worse. The only suggestion I have re off-roading the Prius is to avoid mud-bogging. The VSC system will give you fits!
I was looking for any areas that I might have overlooked... cost $220 for new tire; I found out that a #7 has 150mph tire + $100 for alignment. Dealer was very good and helpful car runs fine. I won't be in such a hurry fromj now on. John
you can probably purchase a new wheel if the scrape bothers you on ebay cheap. or jut get a new trim ring and cover it up. sorry to hear about your accident.
