Hello, Found this piece in my glovebox. About 3 inches long, and 1.5 inches wide. Back of the piece is pictured, front is smooth and black. Looks like it is a cover for something, I just have no idea what? TIA
Sorry--this isn't the shelf. It is in there already. Also, this peice is only about 3 inches long, and if you look at the picture, has a hinge a latch the makes it appear to be some sort of cover. Unfortunatley, I can't find the hole it covers
Sorry about that, admittedly I didn't read your description (or at least didn't think about it). Not sure what that is; I'll take a look in my glovebox the next time I'm out there.
I believe that those are covers for some holes used to tie down the car for shipment. This has come up in a few other threads here: http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-main-forum/45572-rubber-pieces-glove-box.html
tkil, I appreciate the response, but the description of the piece I am talking about, as well as the picture I posted, do not match the thread you linked. Thanks again. Chriscard25
D'oh! Sorry about that; I looked only at the thumbnail, and I thought it was two of the oval / rounded-rectangle plugs on a single mold or something. Apologies. That particular shape looks like the thing used to cover up access ports (e.g., for taillight bulb replacement). I'll take a look in my car real fast... Er, or I'll wait until it's light out tomorrow. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Maybe do a web search for the part number printed on the back? I can't quite read it on the picture. Did you get any dealer-installed bits (e.g., XM Radio) that might have generated the now-unnecessary cover?
Open your lower glove box and look up. Looks like the trim piece that goes in the upper part of your lower box. Airbag connector should clip into it if I'm not mistaken.
Oh.... that's what that's for. I just went into the car and put that little shelf in thanks I love all those cubby holes.
I'll bet you that that little black piece is a cover for the hole in the tray in the luggage compartment under the floor. The storage tray under the floor in the rear has a small hand hold just about that size and I'll bet the cover will snap into that hand hold slot.
That's the cover for the ejection seat button, used when the passenger tells you, "I read an article that even a Hummer's more economical over the life of the vehicle"
captnslur---that is exactly where it fit!!!! How did you figure that out? I am guessing during the prepping of the vehicle, they take it out to access the spare. Thanks!!!! Chriscard25
It covers two fittings under the car (you've got to peek under the driver's seat and then again, under the passenger seat). You'll find that the covers fit these fittings exactly.
