Eug, those Toronto (GTA drivers) that you referred to as "annoyed" are annoyed already. Drive the best way you think you can and maximize the benefit of your Prius. I've found that route selection is the most important factor and this will enable to implement the beneficial driving techniques.

Actually I had two other cars in between. I however came back to the Prius in the end, which really says something about the car. I did have a 2003 first generation Prius and I traded that one to get the '05 model. :) I dealt with the salesman by the name of Doug. It is a pretty good dealership as far as dealers go.

    Summer - 410-440
    Winter - 350-380

We have had our Prius for one year today and we have had a few 500mile tanks, but mostly I think we're in the low 400s per tank in the Denver area.

I hope I can learn to drive like that. I don't drive that far anywhere I go. Rochester is such a small city that I can get from end to end in 10 minutes. My trips all consist of 15 minutes or less mostly highway. Still incredible mileage on your part.

I have an early 04 with the 'gas tank issue' so I'm very limited. It's my most frustrating issue with the Prius.

Before I got the TSB done, when the last pip was flashing I could get in about 6.5 gallons. Now I can get in 8 with the pip flashing and 7.5 at one pip.

As a rule, I never let it run down below two pips so may average tank is 300-400 miles. I've never been able to go 500 miles on a tank even though my lifetime average at 65K miles is 55 mpg.

If I could beat Toyota over the head to fix one thing, that would be it.

I always fill up after the fuel warning beep has sounded and 1 pip begins flashing. I get anywhere between 450 - 485 miles, and pump in between 8.4 - 9.4 gallons.

I get about 500 miles every tank. But I don't refill until 10- 15 miles after it starts beeping.

What's the highest number of gallons you have put in the tank when you fill up?

We go about 500 miles, usually with a 45 mpg and down to 1 gallon... never put in more than 11 gallons.

Every tank in 72000 miles has been noted and tracked in GreenHybrid database. I fill up when the empty light blinds which is usually at about 9.5 gal but rarely over 11.0 gal. I'd say the typical 10 gal tank is about 420-520 gal depending on the weather.

I am about to fill up. I haven't got many miles on this tank, however the temperature did drop as low as 35 degrees out, so the mileage is bad. I will take stats, and post my gallons, my tank miles, and my economy.

I have only had my 2008 Prius for a couple of weeks. On the first tank I got 390 miles and put in 8.5 gallons of gas, mpg on read out said 49.1. On the second fill up I got 420 miles and put in 9 gallons, read out said 50.1. Both times I filled up with one pip left. I live in central Texas and the weather has been in the 70 -90's. This is mixed hilly highway and flat city driving on my daily commute.

    Thanks for everyones input.

Hello all...I am a bit concerened. I've had my Prius since last Wednesday, it came with a full tank of gas, which I am still on. However, I am down to 3 PIPS and I've only gone about ~230 miles. I'm averaging 44.5mpg (want to work on improving this). I don't think i'm going to get the ~440 miles I was thinking. Did the dealer just not fill it all the way? Is it an anomaly with the first tank?

    Any advice?
