I could be mistaken, but I think Bill bought Wife No. 3 a light blue Prius on HBO's Big Love last year. She was all excited about it (who wouldn't be?) but then had to reluctantly lend it to an older woman who came back with a huge scratch on the side!
I saw this commercial tonight about Steve Nash. It was already a good spot, but the Prius makes it stellar.
There's an Allstate Insurance spot with "Dennis the Allstate guy" voicing over, "we shouldn't look at people on the road as obstacles to get past..." It's basically a series of highway shots of people eating at a table or working at a desk placed in the middle of a busy freeway with cars whizzing about. If you're not paying close attention, it looks like a bunch of random cars. If you look carefully in almost every shot however, the same silver Prius blurs by in the foreground of the crowd of cars 4 or 5 times. I'm thinking the art director is a Prius fan. (The spot is also not a bad analogy for people frequently trying to go around Prius drivers who aren't doing 20+ the limit)
I have been watching "Download, The History of the Internet" on Discovery HD, or maybe it is Science Channel HD. I just seach by title, and sometimes, I happen to notice what channel it is. Anyway, the journalist that hosts the series is talking about how back in the 90s before you could download music on Napster, you had to go to the record store in your car of all things, and a dramatization of the trip begins. Then, low and behold, a Prius G2 in Super White drives by and I thought "Oh No They Di'n't" have those in the 90s.
that is a good show. it pretty much centers on Google. something else that was not around in the early 90's either
Well, there are at least four episodes of "Download - THe story of the Internet" 1. Netscape Navigator vs. Internet Explorer 2. Search engines and how Google captured the market 3. E comerace featuring Amazon.com and Ebay 4. Music downloads via Napster and how that lead to MySpace, FaceBook, YouTube, Digg.com and so on.
oh there was more? thanks for the FYI. the segment i saw was excellent... i will look for the others/ all i saw was part 2
I happened to flick past "Wheel of Fortune" last night (I have no idea why I stopped) and they had a Barcelona red Prius as one of the prizes. It was right behind Pat Sajak throughout the whole show. I kept thinking "hey, my car's on TV!" BTW it was "green week" on WoF...they also had what looked like an Escape Hybrid as well but that was off in the background.
I am kinda surprised no one else mentioned it but the Matthew Mcconaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker movie "Failure to Launch" They drove a blue Prius
I saw a IHOP (International House of Pancakes) commercial today that had a Prius in it. Near the end of the commercial when the bikers are cycling away from the restaurant, I caught a glimpse of a Prius in the background. It was there for 1/100th of a second, LOL.
Just got to my DVR copy of last Thursday's CSI Los Vegas and the story begins in a comidy club with the comedian getting some serious heckling. Then he goes out to his Prius to drive home, and zoom in on the MFD for a little NAV action followed by the back up camera display where the murder victom is discovered by Prius back up camera.
you guys watch way to many tv shows I have never seen a prius on ad's on tv, but i only have tv on maybe 1 hour a day..nice sammy lcd collecting dust! Although i do watch 2 and half men, and that episode was grand. Conan, the various news networks and history channel on tues and thur maybe i do watch to much tv
I'm away from home right now and yet, despite my 5 minute walk to class, I've seen 2-4 prii every single day over the last 3 days!
I hate to admit it, but I watch Desperate Housewives... well getting back on topic, in Sundays (4/20) episode, Gabby and Lynette were at a Costco or Sams type store, and in the background was a barcelona red Prius. The car had the Toyota logo covered up with a black circle and a line in it, I guess they cannot feature cars unless they are Aston Martins and Nissans, the shows sponsors.
I just finished the 5th season of Six Feet Under, and was surprised to see Claire drive off in a Prius. Such a poignant ending to an awesome series.
loved that series. the very end when everyones life is chronicled in 30 second segments was awesome. i think i replayed the end about 10 times
Yeah, I'm sad it's over. I'll probably rewatch the whole thing over in a few years once I forget a few things. Unlike you, I couldn't watch the ending more than once. Too sad, I didn't want to tear up! At least Dexter will be back on soon, maybe he should buy a Prius too?
