wow. only took 3 weeks. i don't remember them. i have filled up 3 times, progressively testing the limits further. this last tank i filled up right as it started blinking. i got 9.1gallons in there without any forcing or topping off. i'm cool with that. now avging 47mi/g on last 2 tanks. anyway, i can't say how impressed i am with this car. so fun. so geeky. the next 2 things to do in the next 5k miles are : 1. wait until crutchfield lists out the fitting front speakers and replace them. 2. implement a HD solution (perhaps from coastal dave) to play mp3s. the nav issue will be a nice fix, but has already saved me >$10 in calls i would have made to 411. using the "info" button instead. best surprises: - quietness of ride - smoothness of ride - legroom wishes: - option to plug-in battery so i can be 100% in the AM - ability to easily output nightly standardized .log file with drive stats most interesting moments: - coasting on CA highways to get my mpg readings to hit magic numbers in front of H2s. it gets my adrenaline flowing sometimes, i can tell i drive some people a little nuts. anyway, this board rocks. i check it all the time. thanks to everyone, -r
I'm not sure there's much benefit to the additional hardware required to charge the stock battery pack. At most, with a fully charged battery pack, you might get a couple miles out of the car in EV mode. Granted, if you're like Wayne and have hacked a bunch of additional battery power into the car, there would be an advantage to grid-charging the car at night.
yeah, no way am i going to hack the battery. it would have been nice, but not losing any sleep over it. -r
by nav issue i just mean the inaccuracies of the nav disc from time to time. not a big deal for me, but could be better, imo. -r
