I just got my 2008 Prius last Friday and my fiance took it to work for the first time... I have an unexplainable withdrawal brewing. Its not like I have to go anywhere, I just liked knowing it was parked outside. *sigh*
I know how you feel but, apparently, I am not as nice as you. My wife has a long commute and I have a short one. So when we bought the new Prius, we figured it would make sense for her to use it. But we've had it a month and she hasn't taken it to work once yet. I like it too much and she couldn't care less about a new toy. Am I a bad person?
no, no, that makes you a lucky person! My girl loves new toys (OK, all you dirty minds, leave that one alone )
Careful, or you'll end up a 2-Prius couple... (generally, I modify the phrase by saying "I love TECH toys", to head off improper comments )
Talk about withdrawal - - - My wife took our middle daughter off on a college-visiting trip for 4 days this week. I'm left having to drive dau's Subaru Forester. (Hey, better than mom's Siena van!!) I just couldn't argue with the gas savings on a multistate journey. Can't wait 'til Friday! :bounce:
Rae, I think you're right. I love the 2008 black one we have (my daughter named it Noir) but I am ready to buy a red plug-in as soon as such a thing is for sale.
Yeah, the joy of Prius ownership is already about to spread through our family. My fiance's dad needs a new ride, but while he has a luxury gas guzzler in mind, I'll be rooting for an enviro-friendly Prius... they're luxury as far as I'm concerned anyway. HA! I'll keep that suggestion in mind, although I'm not sure that adding TECH before toy truly removes fiendish thoughts. Yeesh, you're in my thoughts til Friday rolls around!
This is exactly why we are a two-Prius household. This way I no longer have to listen to "Can I drive your car? Please?!?" It also solves the whole "my SO ruined my gas mileage" thing because she never drives mine and I always bring hers up.
lol, you might have a point there... (Wow, this has to be the most extensive smilies collection I've ever seen. Or maybe I just don't frequent enough forums.)
It's true that Dr is the lucky one. My spouse does not like any sort of toys. It's only lucky for me that the Prius is included.
at least it's not antagonist-precipitated withdrawal... ie you're not stuck driving a hummer in the meantime
I have a 2007 Prius and I still get a thrill when I pull out of my driveway each morning ... but my point here is ... a friend just bought a Chevrolet Avalanche! It gets about 14mpg. What is the attraction of the big TRUCKS?? Yes, its a TRUCK! I don't get it!!!
