[crossposted from Yahoo-2G group] First, huge thanks to Rich Evans for setting the place up and making arrangements. Next, it was a pleasure to see so many Prii in one place. Someone made the comment that there were more Prii there than on any dealer's lot in the country right now!! I think there were 7 or 8. Also, if you are impressed by how incredibly bright Wayne Brown is on the internet, double that and you'll be approaching how smart he really is. He shared some pretty amazing information. It was a kick to see his car and the nice way the battery pack is added in. It will take almost no extra space at all if we can get that as a NiMH. He has a wonderful wife and daughter who also came along. Coastal Dave and his wife Kelly were also present. The key take home useful thing I got is that the little connector pins for the EV button wire to connect to the ECU are available for free--you just pull out a plug under the bottom cover of the steering wheel and there are about 10 spare ones right there....don't go paying Toyota $10 for one. Jason, Angel, and several others (sorry guys, I just can't keep all the names--I've always been bad with that) were there and it was a pretty exciting time just to socialize and interact. The loyal Prius Widows got along great. Even though I was the first to leave due to needing to catch an early flight and 2 very exhausted 4 y/o boys up well past their bed times, I think no one was getting impatient. I highly recommend these gatherings, it was a lot of fun and educational where folks could exchange information and ideas. Imagine, Wayne and Coastal Dave working together on prius mods...are you kidding!! Think what they could do.
Sure, lots of pix...just none by me b/c I was an idiot and left my camera at the hotel. :x Wayne Posted a nice composite of the affair at http://www.seawell.net/Prius//04Photos/Orl...lanShindigR.jpg Jason put up a few shots at his site too at http://greenhybrid.com/discuss/index.php?dlcategory=3 I've got a couple crummy, dark, small grainy shots on my phone camera, but they pretty much suck big time.
Evan, I'm so disappointed in you. You're the photographer of the group. How could you forget the camera? Linda Z
Trust me, I feel the fool... But, to be a typical male I'll blame my wife...I had the camera out where I wouldn't forget it and she packed it in our stuff to carry-on to the airplane the next morning. Heck, I left my swim trunks and a nice pair of polarized sun glasses in Orlando when we left the next morning too.... In any case, I just had my crummy little 2MP digicam, left my nice stuff at home.
