Hello all...my initial post here on PC. Been looking at getting a Prius for a week or so. Currently driving an 02 Explorer. The short story is the dealer I worked with was absolutely awesome. Got a package 3 for $23,500 OTD, with very very little negotiating needed. They gave me a great deal on my trade in.

I am very excited about getting this. It's en route to the dealer and should be there around the 7th. It's silver, would have loved a mag. gray or black but given the deal this guy worked I wasn't going to fight the color too much when silver was ok too.

$26k +TTL for a #6 Touring in magnetic Grey. Also wanted to post another great experience with Toyota Vallejo. Contacted them via their website to request a quote. Was contacted by Dan with a very straightforward quote. No games, no hassles, great price. Picked up the car this morning. Realized after taking it home that they even threw in the floor mats and the rear bumper applique for free! He did not mention it at all, just gave me the car for a great price.

This is particularly poignant because another dealer was negotiating and playing all kinds of games - even complained about the gas he would have to put in the car for me and the $100 detail job before sending the car out the door.... Anyway, if you live in Northern California, i would recommend checking Toyota Vallejo - they were well worth my time driving one hour from Santa Clara to deal with them and pick up the car.

nice deal tyang. I would have to go and check but it was around 25,200 for pk2 with the 6 disc, no NAV/JBL..none touring model. With tax and everything else was around 27 something. I traded in a car though so finance is about 20,000. It was a spur buy honestly, I only looked at one other hybrid, the honda of course, and chose the toyota and glad I did, although I should have pre-ordered or went to other dealer before hand..but overall pretty happy with the deal. I've seen some with more options for less, but what can you do? :cool:Learn to shop around next time?

And If i could go back and do it all over again, I would not have picked Black, but classic silver.

Hello. I got mine from Concord Toyota for 25,400 +Taxes and lic. 2008 Touring Pkg 6. I called almost all the dealers in the bay area and Concord Toyota was BY FAR the cheapest.

Bowie, Maryland, $25,999 + tags and taxes and transportation cost. It took 6 hours to make the deal and drive away, and we got it because it was a Saturday when sales are generally more prevalent and the $ brought in per day can be averaged out over a higher volume of sales. It was tough getting that price.

    Hello all,
I'm currently on the hunt for a Prius. My poor car was totaled last week when some guy ran his red light and collided with me, so I thought I would take this opportunity to buy the Prius. It's been a pretty stressful process so far because I'm trying to get a Package 2 as close to $20K as possible... It's gotta be possible in the Bay Area; they have tons of Prii lying around!

I got a quote for $21,188 +TTL , which would be $23,298 OTD, but I read a couple of posts where some people got prices like this:

    ****************
    New Prius Package #2

    $20,790 before taxes/tags/processing fee

    Out The Door Price:
    $21,812.23
    *****************

Do I even have a chance at something like this? All of my negotiations haven't been close to this so far. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get them to go down?
    Thanks!

After wanting a Prius for years I finally got serious a few days ago. Based on invoice and prices others here have paid I contacted about 15 local dealers and offered $21,700 plus tax and license for a 2008 package 2 in Barcelona red. Most of the dealers laughed in my face but Thomas Cook, Internet Sales Manager at Toyota of Hollywood said he could do it. Do it he did. I even managed to get them to knock off the $55 documentation fee. We drove it home Saturday night.

from what i observed, Prius prices are only going to get more expensive as deamand at this time can NOT meet supply

i dont think toyota expected it to become such a HIT among many

some dealers i spoke to said that come summer expect it to have anywhere from a $2K-$6K mark up/premium, since we expect gas prices to reacj near $5/gallon or more by then

with that said i got my 2008 Package6 w/ touring for $30,060 otd, from Power Toyota in Cerritos

and just FYI, POWER owned dealerships (most big dealer companies I.E. AutoNation etc.) are NOT allowed to mark up cars, i would try that first

How much you paid for your Prius?

We live in Orange County, CA. and paid $25,700 +TTL for a 2008 Prius, Pkg. 6, magnetic gray including window tinting, 5 years appearance protection package (permaplate), floor mats, and alarm system through Guardian. This came after 4 hrs of negotiating but we feel we received a fair price. Needless to say, the car is fantastic.

Just got back from the dealer. 2008 Seaside pearl, Bisque cloth, with package #2, with mats for $23,132 +TTL (MSRP $24,478). OTD, $25,225. This was at McCord's Vancouver Toyota. The car was not on the lot, it was a dealer swap. I also got the first oil change free.

BTW, local Goodyear dealer is swapping for the Triple Tread tires (190/60/15) and giving me a $250 credit for the Integrities. Dealer would not negotiate on that one. Still $450 installed though.
