Hello, just stopping by the forums to introduce myself. I'm about to buy an 08 prius. I've been reading the news about the upcoming 09 Prius but i don't think I can wait until 09/10/whenever for it to arrive so I'm about to bite the bullet and dive in. I've been looking around the Prius because I drive 57 miles each way to work and currently am the not so proud owner of a 3.0L SUV. I finally bothered to stop and chat to someone I work with who's owned a Prius for 8 months, he's a great guy and let me look around, showed me the in's and out and then even let me drive his and that's it... sold. My car's on order and I have a lead time of 2 weeks. I could get one today but I'm not bothered with Sat Nav or Leather so just want Barcelona Red/Ash Cloth and Pack 2 with Cruise, anyway just thought I'd say "hi". I'll let you know when it turns up. Greetings to all. Rag
I know how you feel, We should be able to pick ours up on Monday, we are going from a 4 runner to the prius and are looking forward to a considerable saving in gas, insurance and property taxes! Seems like a win, win to me! Even our monthly payment is going down. woohoo! I will admit, I will miss the 4Runner, waited for years to finally be able to afford it, then gas went way up there. Oh well, I am sure it is for the better! I am getting excited to actually get to drive it past all those gas station I frequent so often! I hope they don't miss me too much!!!
Hey ragnorok_weapon and Rvrbnd, welcome to PriusChat! :welcome: Congratulations on your new cars. Passing gas has never been more fun!
Howdy and welcome to the no0bs. Lots of great info here if you stick around. rognorok, I totally hear ya on the leather and built-in nav. The latter has been reported as being deficient in some respects, and if a guy wants a GPS there are a ton of waaaaayyy less expensive options out there. And I'm one of those odd-balls who has always preferred cloth seats. Perhaps it is because I live in a place where we can have very cold winters (sittin' yer hindquarters down on frozen vinyl or leather ain't very pleasant!) and warm-hot summers. Fabric just feels better to me. Anyway, you'll love the #2 package, it's got lots of goodies and is in my view the perfect compromise between being tricked out and at the same time economical.
