can someone tell me if the following is true: i got it off this site: John's Stuff - Toyota Prius and more does anyone knows if above is still valid nowadays?
The list sounds dubious. There are no more tax deductions for Prius sales after 2007. It was only for the first 60,000 cars sold of each model hybrid. Lots of Prii have new homes now. My contract allowed me 1 free oil chg filters and rotation. I have the nitrogen tire program so my rotations and tire replacement is in that. They told me I could wait to get an oil chg until 5000 miles max. I do have the free roadside service. Dont know if thats toyota or my dealer. :yo:
That is absolutely correct, for the topic in the title: Classic (2001-2003 models) John's Stuff - Toyota Prius Selling-Points (Classic) is the webpage, created way back in 2002 for new purchases. Look at the entry above the one quoted. It pushes assumed future gas prices all the way up to $2.15 per gallon! Back then, believe it or not, some owners were actually upset that I'd use such an "expensive" value for gas. Now it's a bit of history we can be amused by. John's Stuff - Toyota Prius Selling-Points is the webpage for the HSD model, last updated in 2005... back when the market for hybrids really started to pick up. Little has changed since then, with the exception of gas prices. BTW: I've been waiting for someone to sound off about those documents. A print format was never created for HSD and updates halted when the mainstream consumer foothold took. The audience change left me wondering what people were curious about now. Things were quite different years ago. .
john, thanks for clarifying that i kind of suspected that free oil changes were an enticement (at one point in time) to bring in more prius customers to Toyota. BTW, that is a great site of your, lots of very interesting and valuable information. thank you for that! I learned a lot (so far)
John, i second the Kudos below. I have been pouring over your site and found tons of useful information. Your logs are great too. We pick our new Prius tomorrow. We are totally pumped to get this car. (or should we say "Pulsed") Thanks again
