Does the Toyota dealer have CC accessories for the other cars like the Yaris or the Vios?

    oh wow.

I really don't know. I'll leave it to the US folks here. I don't know if the Yaris CC accessory we have here will work on the Prius.

If you want to fit after market cruise control (from Kmart etc.) you need to connect it to the accelerator pedal not the throttle as would normally be the case. There are sensors on the pedal you need to excite so you need the cruise control to control the pedal.

Genuine Toyota cruise control I know nothing about.

If your local dealer does not offer a cruise control kit, then you will have to figure it out yourself. An aftermarket kit will not work because the Prius accelerator control is electronic, not mechanical.

If you are serious about figuring it out yourself, I suggest you visit the following subscription website: techinfo.toyota.com
and download information about the hybrid vehicle ECU and the cruise control system from the diagnostics section of the repair manual for your model year. Then study this.

You will note that the hybrid vehicle ECU also serves as the cruise control computer. The CCS pin on that ECU connects to the cruise control switch. Various resistances are made available by the switch depending upon what position it is in.

Assuming that you have electronics aptitude, I suggest that you run a wire to the CCS pin of the ECU as well as a wire to ground, then implement a breadboard arrangement where you can switch the correct resistances to the wires corresponding to the various cruise control positions: OFF, ON, SET, RESUME, and CANCEL. You also need to simulate the brake light switch by running another couple of wires to the STP and ST1- pins of the ECU and switching them on the breadboard to 12VDC.

Then see if the cruise control function will work with this breadboard setup. If it works, then you will be motivated to figure out the correct part numbers for the cruise control switch and the brake light switch, and also decide whether you need a new steering wheel, whether the existing wire harness will work or not, etc.

    Good luck.

When I was looking at a Yaris hatchback I wanted CC but the hatchback doesn't offer it. The salesman called Cartoys (a store in the US) and left a message to see what after market CC would cost. Never heard back as I didn't want the Yaris after further research. This is not to say Toyota wouldn't install it.

There is a link to an English instruction.
    Cruise

There is no kit available for Prius. However, I believe you can by the parts from Toyota parts depot.
    The parts list is...

Please forget about other car's kit, because they are mechanical CC kit.
Prius requires only switches and wires.
