Well, after lurking since October, joining in November and posting occasionally, I have made the leap. On Saturday, Feb. 16, I obtained a magnetic gray with package six. The dealer is installing tint (vital in AZ) and an XM radio and I should pick it up later today or tomorrow. I will post photos as soon as possible and also customize my avatar. This is complicated by the fact that last night I came down with the flu and feel really rotten. AND I did get a flu shot in October...but I have heard that the strain has mutated so much that the shots are pretty useless this year...of that I am living (just barely) proof. Maybe Dr. Evan can weigh in on the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of this years flu shot. Meantime. I am very pumped about my new ride. I had the owner's manuals since Saturday and they are fairly useless...must lose a lot in the translation. I will continue to get my straight scoop on this site. I will be disabling the reverse beep, pumping the tires to probably 40/38 and am still deciding about the trim rings. No other mods planned at this time.
Well, maybe what I have heard about the flu shot...even if you get the flu, it will be milder...might be true. After only a day and a half, I am feeling great. I got my XM activated and love the "Text" screen where I can see the artist (or composer on 110 XM classics that I listen to most of the time) and piece title completely spelled out. Not just the first few letters as on my old Infiniti G35. I will also love that during baseball season as when I "surf" from game to game, I will get the inning and score immediately. I got my neighborhood gate and garage door programmed into homelink. I was due a new phone from Verizon and got a Samsung SCH u540 for free (after $50 rebate). This phone paired up immediately and sent my entire contact list to the car in one go. Yes I am a happy camper and the Gray Ghost and I are ready to rock and roll (due to my taste in music, I might more aptly say ready to go for baroque.)
Congratulations; especially since you were chosen by Toyota to own a Magnetic Gray Prius. You might have not been aware prior to purchasing your car, but there was a technical bulletin put out a while back by the factory prohibiting sales of that color to anybody other than the absolute best looking and brightest among us! And, everyone knows, Magnetic Gray is the most fuel efficient Prius every built.
Gray Ghost Update Second tank: Had two pips left. 408 miles, 8.07 gallons = 50.6 MPG. Tires were pumped to 42/40 before this tank started. I'm learning P&G. Weather is warm (80F or so). My average trip is 15-20 minutes. A bit longer would help, I'm sure. MFD reported this tank at 48.9. The first tank was 45.7 MPG. This car is a marvel !!
lol since I got my Metallic Grey Prius, I noticed I just keep getting better and better looking! Annieeee
