Prius does not have so many options in China compare to US. No package can be selected during the purchasing.

I will post some available pics

    EV pics

EV switch is integrated, so we do not need a modification.

We use the 2006's GPS map developed by local company. Most of items in the touch screen is translated into Chinese and we can input individual interesting points in Chinese.

It is interesting that the bezel buttons are in English. Ken, are the buttons in Japanese in Japan?

Different fuel consumption gauge in China.

    X liter per 100 km (5.7L/100 KM)

I discovered that Prius did not show fuel saving feature when you turn on heater during winter and in very heavy traffic jam. The fuel consumption is around 5.3-5.7 l/100km in Beijing during winter. Now, the fuel consumption is dropped to 4.3-4.7 l/100km. However, Prius still have very good result compare to normal vehicle (10-12 L/100KM).

The worst part in PRC version that I can not stand is that MP3 is not readable in the CD player!!!

Thank you. In the US, that button switches the speed display from miles to kilometers.

Ceric, I was referring to the physical button below the screen.
    Clock, Flasher, ODO-TRIP, Light level

    No more pics now.

The rest part I did not post should be as identical as other versions. Nothing special design for China market.

BTW, I found that Prius carpet (five pieces, two big for front seat, three small for back seat and aisle respectively) was made in China and exported to Japan. The cost is around RMB 700.

Only two color available in China, i.e., classical silver and black.

    No back camera!

Fascinating photos; thanks for posting them!

I'm glad that the nav system was localized with Chinese characters.

    - What about your car's exterior:
    - Any unusual marker lights?
    - Do you have HID headlights installed?
    - Are the exterior labels (Prius and the HSD badges) in English language only?

    - Are your steering wheel buttons labeled in English?

Interesting. I long ago forgot how to read any Chinese characters and I never studied Japanese. But I would have thought that it would have been easier and better for Toyota and the Chinese if Toyota just used the Japanese MFD in China, either without changes of characters, or with changes of only those characters that were not the same as Chinese characters.

    1. I think the exterior should be as same as other version.

    2. No unusual marker lights. But I plan to convert all interior incandescent lights to LED lights. It is very very cheap in China. You can spend a few tenners to change all interior lights.

    3. No HID installed. I just want to know whether HID can improve fuel consumption. Does the Hid ballast have impact on PRIUS electrical system?

    4. Prius and Hybrid label are all in English. However, a Chinese label of auto manufactures is mandatory to be added in the lower left corner of truck.
    5. The first batch of PRC Prius equipped with MICHELIN tyres (V8 Engery + series) and then changed to Hankook tyres afterwards.

    5. The steering wheel buttons are all marked in English. Please take a look the pic of steering wheel.
