Hi everyone, I am going to seal the deal tonight on an 08 Barcelona Red #2....should pick the car up tomorrow. I am excited! This will be quite the change from the F150 I've driven for the past 15 years. The red is in homage to the truck I have now, I feel a little bad selling it as it's been a very good vehicle but I just can't justify 15 mpg anymore. I never would have considered a Prius (or any "small" car for that matter) except that I had one as a rental car 2 weeks ago (Alamo in Orlando). Drove the car 370 miles, about 70 in really bad stop and go traffic (in 2 mile trip increments) and then about 300 miles on the highway to Venice and back. When we stopped to get gas on the way back to the airport the pump clicked off at 8.5 gallons, and we thought something was wrong! Nope, just a solid 45 mpg (according to the car). And it's really not as small as I thought. It's higher off the ground than my boyfriend's Camry (which after driving a truck is a big deal to me) and with the hatchback I can still get some decent sized stuff in there. I am planning on getting a set of Saris roof racks for my kayaks (thanks to research here) so will let you know how that works. Hopefully will post some pictures of the new car tomorrow!
Hey welcome to PC and congratulations on the new Prius! Wow, it is quite a change from a F-150. You'll love it. Read here how to Pulse and Glide and you can easily get 50 mpg. It's also a cute color.

Went to the dealer last night and ended up paying $22,402 +$115 fees. They insisted this was invoice although I've seen some folks on here getting a little bit less. But I can't complain too much. Just figured out the insurance and am going to pick up the car at 3! Will have pics tomorrow. I drove the car last night and the red looks great. I got the gray interior, didn't like the tan but at least I had the choice between the two.
