This is a non-smoking, no children, no salt, no accidents, no warranty claims car.It has always had the Prius floor mats covered by other floor mats. It has always been garaged. It has the long term extended warranty, which we will transfer with the car. The 10K mile service and break light switch recall notice have been done by Toyota. We have had studded snow tires on four extra wheels on the car during the winter months, so less than half the milage is on the original tires. Needless to say, its a great car. For those who are nay-sayers, we sold the car for $22k wo the extended warrenty. The dealer had offered us 18K. It took a while, but when gas prices went up again, the phone began to ring. We got no inquiries from Prius Chat, 2 dead end leads from AutoTrader.com, none from Cars.com, but numberous ones from a major metro newspaper 450 miles from our isolated Wyoming home. The latter produced the sale. The Toyota dealers in the boonies had cars on the lot, but the cities still had a waiting list. Now we are enjoying our 2005 Prius. Advertising on a chat site probably isn't a good idea because of all the negative talk, but it does give you input you might consider in your marketing.

This was a learning experiance. PriusChat was a good place to test the waters and we certainly got feedback. The car was paid for so our cost was in the advertising. I'd have kept it rather than sell it for the dealer's trade in price. At the time, the dealers within 150 mile radius had cars on the lot. The initial demand was met and the advantage isn't so great when the distance to the store isn't enough to get the engine warmed up and the distances out of town are so great that most people drive 75-80 mph. That combination isn't conducive to getting the best milage out of a prius. Diesel pickups and suvs are the norm, especially for those who drive long distances on unpaved county roads to get to town. We thought we might get some inquiries from the west coast or the mid-west where there were still waiting lists. It's always easier to come down than to go up. And we always left the door open to negotiation. I was amazed that no one called to make an offer based on prices in their local market. Gas prices going up certainly has renewed interest. We had an '83 Bronco II that we'd been trying to sell for a year. It sold the same week as the Prius.
