Gas today in central Indiana is $3.45, or more(last week at 2.99). I was already totally happy with my Prius purchase last November, but now maybe a little more.
ditto. Although I couldn't help feeling a little smug hearing the SUV driver interviewed on NPR today. She said it costs her $70.00 a week to drive and if gas gets any higher she'll have to take the bus. Says she regrets buying the SUV. I think she had a Tahoe. I must say I'm glad I bought my Prius in 2005.
Got you beat. Saw gas @ $ 3.69 for 93. Filled up the Co truck today with 93 as she's getting old and pingin' a little now & then so almost 27 gallons for $ 97....glad its not my truck. Saw an article in ns.p. that Florida is the leader in high gas prices.Yeah $4 a gallon is a given this summer. Its George's last gift to us before he heads to Crawford to clear brush for the rest of his idiot life and hopefully never be heard from again. 1-20-09 The day our long national nightmare is over.
Man, it must suck to have to buy gas. I can't even remember just when I last drove a car. The only thing I know for sure is that it didn't burn gasoline. Oooh, somebody stop me before I get beat up.
Well, the point is that it has jumped about 50 cents/gal. That's a pretty good jump in a couple of weeks. I assume that it has gone up a similar amount across the nation. But, no, I know I could be paying more. Like I said, it makes me feel even better about my Prius purchase decision.
It's still not high enough: When big fatsos get out of their car and actually go INTO wallmart to enjoy the air conditioning (rather than sit in the car w/ the AC on) in the store ... THEN we'll be nearing what gas should cost. When people cruise around, simply to blast a boom box amp, driving huge woofers? When gas is too expensive to simply run you car as a moble generator for a way-too-lout sterio ... THEN we'll be nearing what gas should cost. Or? You fill in the next wasteful example of why gas doesn't yet cost enough.
It already does. $60,000 used! About twice what they cost when they were new. What other car sells for twice as much when it's 5 years old as it did when it was on the new-car lot?
Noticed regular unleaded is posted as $3.65 at the local Valero station this morning - up 4 cents from yesterday.
$5.20 a gallon in Gorda, California. Amusing NY Times article here: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/12/us/12gorda.html?scp=6&sq=gas&st=nyt
It cost me $25.00 to fill up last night; my weekly commute is 450 miles. Last night was 374 miles, with 2 bars showing, 374/7.05 gals = 53 mpgs !
Not me. Keep it up, your royal smugness, sir. Man, the traffic this morning was a nightmare. Three dust bunnies were hogging the fast lane, a kid reading a book was stalled in the intersection, and somebody let the neighbour's cat in again. He's always changing lanes without signalling, and does u-turns faster than I can get out of the way. The commute took me several milliseconds longer than usual. :tongue1:
Funny I filled up Sunday night @ 3.29 gallon, cost me exactly $32 to fill up. Which was also the most expensive Fill up ever for me since getting the Prius. I go into work on Monday and I see that it jumped 20 cents on my way home. I go into work the next day and all I hear is everyone whining. Then I still see people hitting the websites shopping for impractical vehicles. It wont change anything.
I spotted $3.43/gallon today at a local station. I filled up @ $3.40/gallon. Cheaper than California, but we have cold weather and aren't getting our best mpg's this time of year. Harry
