Help I would like instructions on how to setup my bluetooth option on my 2005 Prius.. Just bought it.. No instructions on how it works.. A nice procedure would be appreciated Thx Ron

Also, if you have Verizon as a carrier, you may not be able to send your phonebook to the Prius. Some of their phones will, but many won't.
i just successfully brought a 2007 Prius into Victoria BC. Yay! I am having problems setting up my Treo Bluetooth with the Prius system. I get so far,password entered, and then, nothing. Any other Canadian having this problem? Thanks. Linda
Which Treo are you trying to interface to Bluetooth? The Treo's seem present more challenges than other phones.
In my experience with a Treo 650, you need to make a call after entering the password of the Prius when setting up the car kit on the Treo.
Or to be more factual, MOST Verizon phones won't ... but if it doesn't have Verizon's crappy Vcast software (which cripples the phone's abilities to "push" its database) ... then you have a chance that you can load your database. But yea, if you post on PC, try the search tool ... it can be your friend.

There you will find a COMPLETE list of phones and what features will work with the car you select. Most new Verizon have 99.9% compatability with Prius. I just went thru this last week when I got my new phone. B.T.W I picked the LG VX9900 Envy. 99.9% compatable. In fact the most common incompatable feature on most phones is that it will not display the Roaming Signal Stregnth meter.....big deal!!! Everything else worked fine!! I currently have a LG VX5400, which works fine with my 2008 Prius with NAV system. I am paying $40 per month to Verizon, and am considering going to a prepaid phone with NET10, which will cost me 10c per minute ($15 min per month), which should save me a lot of money. The Bluetooth phones NET10 has are an LG220C, LG600G, and a LG290C. These are not listed in the Toyota phone listing, so i am wondering about compatability. Any experience or opinions? Is there anyway to find an answer?
I've got the LG600G through Tracfone. It works for Hands Free calling, but on my 2004 the Prius doesn't like the format of the VCF file from the phone for contacts, so I ended up editing them on my laptop before transferring the phonebook from the laptop.
TracFone FINALLY offers a BT phone in Vermont. I just picked up a TracFone LG220C. Buy it at WalMart and the phone is Double Minutes For Life, unlike when you buy it from TF. We don't use our cell phones a lot so we buy the 1 year/400 minutes cards. Buy them during a promotion (which seems to be about 366 days a year) and you get 250 bonus minutes. So when I need to buy again (around August), I should be getting a year of service and 1300 minutes for < $100. That may not seem like a lot of time but I have been using TF for 5 or 6 years and currently have 2000 minutes; I have never had to buy 'extra' minutes. As noted by Levi, the car and phone can communicate. To set it up, you need to turn BT on in the car and the phone, then set the phone 'discoverable'. The Prius BT gives you the security code (1212 in my car) which you put in the phone once the car finds it. I couldn't get the phone to find the car, I tried that first. I also can not push the phone's contacts to the car (it says use a compatible device. I'll try Levi's Laptop suggestion, I just got one at work) so the ONLY way to get numbers into the car's phone book will be to use the 'outgoing/incoming' calls. The car keeps only 5 of each. I haven't yet tried putting things in the phone book, only the 1 Touch buttons (9 total). I HOPE I can add them to the phone book the same way. What idiot decided you should not be able to enter numbers into the car's 2 phone books directly???? The 2004 Prius Nav/Info manual was obviously written by someone for whom English is a second language and was not reviewed by anywone who knows English well.
