Have a pronounced rattle/buzz on initial acceleration or deceleration. Sounds like it's in A/C vents. Only lasts a couple of seconds. It's in both 2007 cars. Cleaned both A/C filters ( they sure needed cleaning) but no help. Any ideas ? Thanx, Carl
Don't know if this is your issue, but it's so easy and cheap to try it out. I had a rattle in the AC vents, but it was while driving over rougher street surfaces and hitting potholes. http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-main-forum/42610-oh-boy-dash-rattles.html Good luck Carl
buzzing is the compressor for the brake recharging/resetting. not sure about the rattling. listen to hear if it happens at stops as well.
jbdan-our buzz/rattle are not going over bumps, bad road etc. It happens only when starting to accelerate, or when lifting off throttle to decel. short duration, not again until a new cycle. psikot--I know that sound, not my "problem sound". Thanks for suggestions. My gues is some small particles like sand in A/C ducts. Kinda sounds like something small vibrating on plastic. We live near the beach so plenty of sand around. Not really a big deal but since it's happened with both cars it would be nice to try to find the cause. Carl
