just had my accelerator pedal assembly replaced (800.00$) didn't even make it through the day and am already the power loss problem again. 1- what else could be wrong 2- was there nothing wrong with the acc. pedal 3- is this a lemon??? (used purchased, 20000km no problems) 4- all these problem started after i lost my key and had to have a new transponder installed (and they also killed my car battery). could this be related (this is the same post as on priusonline, sorry for the duplication)
Re: power loss "big hand syndrome" can not be fixe if it's still doing it I'd take it back to the dealer and complain that their diagnosis was incorrect and you want a refund on a very expensive part that didn't solve your problem. Get them to check it again and provide you with a reasonable explanation why the repair was unsuccessful.
Re: power loss "big hand syndrome" can not be fixe yes, i have done that and they have been very understanding but i'm still worried that this problem will not go away. the engine completlely shut down last friday and the car was unusable until they cleared the error code from the computer.
Perhaps they messed-up one of the ECUs when they managed to kill the battery and replace the transponder? Have you tried taking it to a different dealership and getting them to look at it? Did they tell you what the error code was? That should give them a whole bunch of info on what's wrong. N.
