I am to shopping for a Prius loaded package 6, if you think 28k is alot try going to TOYOTA CANADA : TOYOTA.CA LANGUAGE and see how we in Canada pay too much, like 38k when our dollar is often at par, lol. I would get the options you want on the car, built in is always nicer and "neat" no wires haging or gps stuck to your windsheild or dash...good luck!! I am giving up my VW Passat TDI 04 which gets 40mpg for a Prius, I hope Im doing the right thing....
http://priuschat.com/forums/newbie-forum/43794-welcome-our-boy-elroy-silver-6-prius.html Thanks for all of your help, we purchased our Prius 3/6/08 Here's the link to my post.
we got him on Thursday night and came straight home, Friday I went out shopping (took a vacation day to spend with him!) and 7 people asked me questions about him! I was shocked... this is thefirst time I've driven a car that got so much attention, since my first car (71 VW Karman Ghia)
It's just a shame that our weather is so yucky, I did drive him earlier saturday, before the snow. We have about 3 inches and snow/ice today, so I'll have to just "pretend" to drive him in the garage. I'm going to learn about the nav system today.
A 71 Karman Ghia.....wow, that brings back some memories. My first car was a '67 Beetle. Those were the days. I haven't laid eyes on a KG in ages, imagine that they must be a bit of a collector's item anymore. Congratulations on the Prius!! Too bad about the weather, though. Not wanting to encourage high-risk behavior or anything, but I bought my Prius in late December and had a planned trip to visit family in Minneapolis a week later, set out in a snow-storm. I hit 200 miles of whiteout/blizzard conditions and 4-6" of unplowed snow on I-90 and the Prius (even wearing the frequently bitched-about Goodyear Integrities.....I'd tried to find some Blizzaks or other decent snow tire before the trip, but none were to behad here in remote Montana) did fine, I kept my speed in the 55 range (pretending it was still the days of the "double-nickel") and didn't have any trouble at all. In fact, I decided against bothering with snow tires after that experience. Oh well, spring cannot be too far off......
Our credit isn't perfect, our bank gave us 7.5% and then took 1% off the rate when we signed up for direct payment monthly from our checking account.. 6.5% interest for 72 mos.. which is better than my dealer could get me.
