During my morning commute to work, something occurred that has me wondering if the Age of Aquarius is truly upon us. I live on the eastern end of Long Island, where every other vehicle is an SUV or pick-up truck. I was driving westbound in the right lane on the Long Island Expressway, cruise controlin' at 56mph in my 2008 seaside pearl. Another seaside pearl came up upon me in the middle lane at precisely the same time that a silver metallic passed in the left lane. For one very brief moment, there were three beautiful Prii lined across all three lanes in "Truck-land." It was a glorious moment! It's important to note that, since we were all New Yorkers, we also went out of our way to avoid eye contact or give any other signal that we were aware of the poignancy of the moment! (Some things never change in New York...sigh!) Bill
Uhhh . . . you were also all driving at 58 MPH on a truck-crowded expressway. The poignancy of the moment is that you are all still alive.
No, he said that he was passed by the one on the left, and they were both passed by the one in the far left... so, it was done right.
I think I am the only person who waves at other prius drivers. Then they look at me like I flicked them off. NJ drivers stink
I travel the opposite way to the East and have been eyeing the westbound side's HOV lane. There are many more Prii nowaday. It is good to know there are more prii in the regular lanes as well.
B.Dogg, while you do the wave, I flash my brights -- and no response ... yet Flashing asways drew a response in my previous car -- Wrangler drivers needed a sense of identity. See you on the TPK
LOL, if you did that down around Los Angeles, you might get a flash in response. A muzzle flash from one of the crazys down there.
I had to drive to Bakersfield today (78 degrees BTW ) and was amazed at how many Prii I saw going and coming back. I was going to count them but ran out of fingers and toes. None of them waved but I'm not sure they saw me, they were mostly looking at the MFD. My Prius cruised through the mountains with ease although the ICE was running hard most of the time and still ended up with an avg. of 41mpg. I have 950 miles on it now. Hopefully I have a good breakin on it now.
