Hi. Did most of you install your SLQ2i yourself or via a stereo installation shop? For those of you who did install one of these, is it pretty straight forward? would i be able to take it to pretty much any stereo installation shop (even one that doesn't even carry/sell VAIS products) or do you think it's too specific a job to leave to a basic installation shop? I'm asking because I'm in New York City and one guy who does high end installations quoted me 300 for installation alone. The 2nd option is a one hour drive away from me. There are several stereo installation places near my home/work and so obviously I'd hope that they could handle the job.
Hey there! You can take it almost anywhere. There are quite a few owners of our product that end up going to Best Buy for the install. They are affordable and can do the job. The system is very easy to install.
I had my sub installed at Best Buy. I like the fact that they have a lifetime warranty on the install. They will also remove the device for free when you go to trade in or sell your car in the future.
interesting. i always thought Best Buy and Circuit City only installed parts that you purchase thru them. Do I have to bring instructions for the install or do the technicians have access to a library for something as obscure as the VAIS (I'm assuming that it's mostly only Toyotas that use the VAIS)
