Ah Elyria. Home, I think, of Leon Spinks and a Ford factory (during the Seventies at least). I also used to bike there to get liquor.
Magnetic Grey rocks the Rockies! 2008 Prius Touring Addition. Does great in the snow, slush, and zipping through the Rockie Mountains in Colorado, much better then most two wheel drive cars, love that traction control! PS: Mile high advantage, the electric motor Horsepower and torque is not affected by altitude, unlike those air breathing cars wheezing away at high altitudes thin air.
Of course! Another Bay Stater here, too, that's another YAY! I got Tommy in 2006, the first year Magnetic Grey came out. I took it partly because I had never seen another Prius in that color. Now it seems to be the most common color. Fortunately, it's still the best color, too.
The Gray Ghost has arrived in Arizona as of today, 2/18/08. Magnetic gray, package six, window tint, xm radio, reverse beep disabled. Request admittance to the club.
Re: The Magnetic Gray Club - Modifications? Got my magnetic gray--Magneto--last Friday. He's a beautiful 2008 #6 with dark gray leather. Have been obsessed ever since--can't stop reading PriusChat to learn about driving techniques, mods, etc. So far, I've ordered an EBH, all weather mats, mud guards, side molding, and license plate frames (can't stand those dealer advertisement frames). This weekend I'll have the tire pressure raised to 42 front/40 back and block the grill to approx. 80%. I've been considering the Lock-Pick, but not sure it's worth it. Also, not sure exactly what the ScanGuage brings to the table. From reading various posts, sounds like I should change the wheels/tires, but hubby is against it until the current ones wear out. What--if anything--have all you other magnetic gray owners done to enhance your ride?
I'm in! (There's a little known fact that Toyota issued a TSB that requires dealers to sell magnetic gray prii to only the best looking and smartest buyers. Also, a leading independent research organizaton in an exhaustive study found that magentic gray is the most fuel efficient Prius. Go figure!)
Hey NOVA, sorry for the delay. My tint is SolarGard HP Titanium 35% front side windows, 20% rears sides and rear hatch. Yeah, it looks great and is a godsend in Arizona during the summer.
... but that was before it was recalled to make way for the Spectra Blue Mica owners, which scientific fact has proven is by far the most fuel efficient color of them all..... Challenge to all Magnetic Gray owners - how many of you would have taken the Spectra Blue IF it had been available when you bought your car? Be honest now.... similarly honest, if the Spectra Blue had not been available I would definitely have taken the Magnetic gray..... guess I was lucky.
The question is: would you take Spectra Blue if Magnetic Gray wasn't available? My answer: Probably. Unless a Magnetic Grey was definitely coming in a week or two.
