Fluid Power Engineer. Design, inplement and troubleshoot hydraulic systems. My other "job" is as a weekend volunteer with the National Park Service working on a WWII era Destroyer.
Aeronautical Engineer I voted for other but I realized it might make me the computer/mathematical? i do not know there should have been an engineer category
This sounds familiar. If my memory is correct, the job poll immediately prior to this one also was missing an engineer category. What's up with that? Seems like a rather large job category to miss. Especially on this board.
I'm guessing there aren't too many Prius's in the parking lot at the iron workers union! My grandad was a lifelong ironworker...very proud of it. He used to tell me some great stories!
30 years as a Union Millwright, installed/maintained many Turbine/Generators over the years (Geothermal, Solar, Gas, coal fired, etc.) and all other types of new construction. I always liked the challenge of the "next" job. Unfortunately I had to go out on a Disability Retirement BUT I found this can be a joy also (other than medical problems,LOL):eyebrows: Not many at a Millwright hall either
Currently, a Web Developer building Web-based applications for the Army Reserve (via a mid-sized government contract corp) using .NET, C#, VB, etc. Have also practiced law, taught at the University level, been a manager in both legal and technical fields, and am always threatening to "quit" to be a full-time sculptor.
I'm two of the categories - Arts, design, entertainment, sports, media & Self Employed. I'm a photographer, specializing in Automotive Photography. But also do weddings, corp events, Engagement photos to add more $$ to my bank accts! I absolutely LOVE what I do
Civil Engineer/administration, working for the gov. Why no engineering category? I think there are a lot of techie Pri keepers.
Currently: Asst. Database/PeopleSoft Administrator (6 months) Prior jobs: Programmer/Analyst (13 years) Library Associate (2 years) Cashier (13 years) and assorted HS jobs.
I guess in the poll, "computer" might double for the internet industry? I work for an internet-start up!
