Hi! I just want to introduce myself here on Prius Chat. I just joined Prius Chat at my son's suggestion. He is Pravus Prime from greenhybrid.com and clean mpg.com He has a 4WD FEH (Ford Escape Hybrid) This is the first foreign car I have ever owned--my dad worked for Ford and I could get his discount, but the only hybrid they have is the FEH which is a great SUV, but I like driving a CAR and I wanted a hatchback--I have had 4 Escort wagons and a Focus wagon. I got my 2008 Prius in September--I had wanted a blue one, but the dealer wasn't able to find one so after a few weeks I told him my second choice was white, he found a white 2008 and had it here in two days! I love this car! So far so good in winter driving. I'm getting pretty good mpg for a newbie (my son keeps teaching me new tricks!). My first tank was about 62 mpg but then it got cold and dropped off (now I know why he always complained around Labor Day that his good mileage was over for the year!) It's been very cold here and I'm averaging 45-48 now. (compared to the 23-27 I'd be getting in my 02 Focus wagon) I've seen quite a few threads on other boards complaining about the NAV system, but I've never had one before and I think it's great. One cool experience I had just last weekend--I went by another white Prius in the next lane and they waved and smiled at me! I gave them a big thumbs up! Hi! Yes he was at Hybridfest. He got 2nd in the MPG challenge in his division. If at all possible, I will be at Hybridfest this year! It will be great to meet other hybrid owners.
