Yesterday we had pin stripes added to our 2007 Magnetic Gray Prius. We did not want anything gaudy, just something simple. We went for two stripes, magnetic red and magnetic silver. We also did not care for tape so we had them painted on. They turned out really well.
My car came with black tape stripes (white car), and black door edge and wheel well outline moldings from the dealer as part of their $500 added value (translation: ADDED PROFIT) package. I kinda like them though. I added the Prius decal also in black, and so far i've never seen another like it of the 50 or so I see a day on the freeway. Its good to be different, and the stock Prius is a good blank canvas to play with. The only downside is that the tape has begun to peel at the trailing end, near the back window. Paint is more permanent, but the tape comes off if you don't like it. Even if you Do like it. I'm a little slow, but here's my stripes, door and fender moldings:

I typically do not like the Prius with pinstripes, but I looked at your pictures and the colors just work well with your car. I say good job. I also like the painted on versus the tape. They will look nicer longer and when you wax the car you won't get that wax line at the top of the tape that is a pain to remove.

On the 04 we took them off when a door needed bodywork (rather than pay for re-striping the door). On the 06 we requested they skip the pinstripes, and they did.

Take it back and get them to fix it.
I am thinking at adding some stipes. Please send more photos so I can see what mine may look like. I have a black Prius.
