This Clazzio leather looks nice in the photos. Is it really that nice in person? Also, does it have any "cush", meaning does it make the seats any softer or more comfy? Also, how big a difference is the "feel" of the leather and pvc parts? Don't know why, but I have a real bug to get leather covers even though I actually rather like the oem cloth. Leather is just easier to keep clean, and I think it looks a bit more elegant (maybe cause every speck of dust doesn't show up?). Thanks Fernsmom
it feel just as nice.. you can feel the difference between the leather and pvc.. the pvc is softer than the perforated leather... it looks better in person i think... it's very comfortable... if i was to do it all over again.. i would take the same road
I agree with Roy 100%. I live in an area of car buffs and everyone of them think the seats look great. I have to admit, I hated the feel and look of the OEM seats. These seats bring a whole new look to the interior of the car that I am completely satisfied with. I even think they look better than the OEM leather and they are extremely functional. If I wanted to put them on another Prius, I could and still have the good condition of the original seats that came with the car with considerable ease. What ever your decision, Good Luck.
Hi Diversified and Roy, Thanks for all of your posts here and elsewhere about these Clazzio covers. Just wanted to confirm a couple of things: 1. Both of you guys got the same Clazzio model covers (perforated leather trimmed covers, i.e., leather center seating panels, with the rest being vinyl)? 2. Diversified's covers are gray, and Roy's are black? (Because of lighting, I couldn't really tell by looking at your respective photos.) 3. Both of you guys installed your covers directly over the existing OEM cloth fabric covers (instead of first removing the OEM covers)? 4. What's the battery vent panels you guys are talking about that you haven't covered or covered correctly? Didn't those PDF instructions for assembling and dissassembling Prius seats that I had linked for you explain or show how to remove those battery vent panels? Anyway, these covers look and sound good. They're a prime candidate for $400 of my $600 economic stimulus rebate check.

Taking it off isn't difficult, adding the leather to the panel is difficult. I haven't taken the time to figure it out. Maybe you can join the club. It hasn't bothered me enough yet

Glad to hear you're working. Times are a little rough for those of us involved in real estate. I did high end real estate law for over 20 years. Then I quit Thanksgiving Day 2006. Haven't decided yet whether I'm on sabbatical or retired.
Hi Tom, I'm in Roy's position on the back battery panels. I've been too busy to sit down and try to figure a way to install the covers on the battery panels in a "professional" way. An easy solution would be to just attach the covers with an adhesive, but I don't think they would hold long or look good. It appears the battery panels are two piece frames with the OEM covers sandwiched in between, however these two frames are either glued permanently or heat fused together. I haven't given up. P.S. I'm a real estate broker and cert. appraiser. Saving a ton of money on gas doing these appraisals in this rural area I just moved to. With these leather seat covers, wood dash and interior LED lights I'm starting to feel like I'm back my Cadillac!
i'm a structural engineer... i'm doing a seismic design on a new high rise. The client seem pretty serious. I've been really swamped with so many other projects recently, but I will be putting on my full attention on this new high rise. I'm hoping... the highest west of the Mississippi ... but i'll settle for just designing a high rise. Yea, housing market is pretty much done and it's a good time to get out. Commercial sector hasn't been hit as hard.... My company has a lot of projects ahead of them and one.. which is a hush hush, but overheard it's 3 billion dollar projects...

Just installed my Gray perforated leather seat covers. Install took approx 6 hours. I did not do the front storage bin cover, or the back seat side panels yet. I think the front cover will go smoothly with 2 sided tape, however I haven't quite figured out the back seat side panels. Any ideas? Also it's about 20 degrees today, wish I had heated Clazzio leather ..lol.
Great to hear that you got it on... well 6 hours is just around the neighborhood of the estimated time given on this thread. Anyhow the rear two side hasn't been done yet and i haven't found time to think bout the best way to install this portion of it. Anyhow what do you think of the new seats? Picture would be great!!!! is it up to par to what you were expecting? Does it feel nice? cheap? Let us know~~
Overall I think the seats look great for seat covers. The amount of vinyl however is a concern. I'm not sure how the vinyl will perform at various temperatures. Maybe I'm being too picky, but the perforated leather on the bottom of the front seats does not line up with the seat backs exactly. When I get a chance I'll post pictures. John
vinyl at high temperature... i'm not sure how it will be during the summer.. but you say amount... the amount i believe is the same as OEM.... it is very rare to have a car come in full leather.. i believe that it's not a standard practice to have all leather....
Generally on leather interiors, vinyl is often used on the sides of the seats, but not on the seat surface. I believe that the use of a higher amount of vinyl gives the seat cover more stretch for a tighter fit.
I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd insert mine anyway since I contacted omgitsroy off list about the Classio leather covers. In the end I got a great ebay deal on the Katzkin all leather seat covers (but needing all the hog rings). It took me about 4 hours to do the first front seat, 2 hours to do the second one, and 10 hours to do the rear. I got the cheapest hog ring pliers ($5) at a farm supply store (not too hard to use, not sure the $25-50 models would have made it that much easier for me). I also ended up using a little more than one box of hog rings (so I had to buy a second box). It turned out super! Just a whole lot of work. I'll post pictures later (camera battery was dead just now).

The hard part was the panels, which took half the time. The fit is great. I don't know how much it will affect the seat airbags though. Any thoughts??
maybe its better to slice open the side of the seat covers and then seal it again wit those ( forgot the name for it ) sticky tape ( with hairs on it one side and some plastic little things on the other side )
