We just put down a deposit on an 08 Prius, Package #3. We are hoping to get Spectra Blue, but there is only 1 the dealer found in a 300mile radius. They will be negotiating a trade to get it for us. If they cant trade for it, it may take up to 90 days to have one "preferred". The longer it takes the better down payment we can muster up, but I cant wait! hehe I've been wanting one for a while now, and finally explained to the husband that the money we spend in gas on my 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee a month would pay for half the car! The light bulb finally hit, so instead of buying a used one like I had planned, he's all gung-ho on buying a new one! Works for me! lol Unfortunately he will be the one driving it to work, since he works farther away, and I will be driving his car. Here's hoping we can get one soon.
Hi Shellie, if I were you go ahead and take delivery as soon as you can. the longer you wait, the more you will have to pay for gas. I traded in my old 1996 Nissan Quest and I do not regret it at all. You also made the right decision to buy a brand new one. Let us know as soon as you get it ....pics please.
Picked up my new BEAUTIFUL Spectra Blue Prius on Sunday. Oh my is she purdy!!!! It took my breath away when the dealer opened the service garage door to show us our car. Ive already put 150 miles (trip to my mom's to show off the car lol) on it and I'm loving it. It drives great, it turns heads, it saves gas...what more could I ask for!?! Once our weather gets a little better, I will take some pics! Looking forward to join in on the conversations about my new passion ~Shellie
Ex-Jeep here too. 95 Wrangler leaked like a seive, had non-functional radio, heat was perpetually 'on.' But, at 156,00 mi., all was forgiven. Welcome, Shell -- Spectra's forever & ever
'93 Jeep Grand Cherokee here. It only has 83k miles on it, and we still have it for those trips to Home Depot, or for the snow, etc. I love my Jeep, hate how much gas it uses. On a side note, I took the car to the dealer today to have this Zylion coating stuff put on it they gave us for buying the car. It protects the interior and exterior from stains, bugs, bird droppings, even spray paint wont stick to it. And it eliminates the need for waxing the car, ever apparently.. I went to pick it up this evening and under the shop lights, the blue was breathtaking. I need to get some pics asap!! ~Shellie
Bummer. What does he drive, how old is it and how long do you think it will take you to talk him in to trading *it* in for a Prius for you?
Congrats on the new ride Shellie. Spectra Blue is nice . Now you don't have to pay $50.00 + at the pump...it will just cost you about $20.00 bucks. Remember, jsut use regular gas and your Prius will be very happy.
Pre Prius I was driving an '00 Wrangler as my daily driver. It only has 50K miles on it and I'm keeping it for now, like having something 4WD and that I'm not worried about putting a few scratches on for backcountry driving here in Montana, but the mileage with the inline 4L 6-cyl engine is truly awful, 18 hwy/13 city (not EPA figures, my figures). I may trade it for a new but very basic Tacoma 4 cyl. one of these days. I find that the Wrangler is a good car for off road, dirt, or deeper snow conditions, and it is also easy to handle and park for in-town driving. On the highway it doesn't handle all that well, kind of hops around, and on ice it is downright treacherous with that short wheelbase, likes to swap ends with no warning. I simply will never drive that thing on sheer ice again if I can possibly help it.
Congratulations on your new car. It is great that they are giving you that wax stuff for free, but you will still need to wax your car if you want to protect it properly. They have very tricky wording on those "lifetime" wax products.
