I'm assuming that a hose has become disconnected, as the right one is still working fine. But checking, I find that hoses are hidden under a "shield" inside the hood cover. The shield is attached with plastic button like things. Do these just pop off, and back on again? I don't want to take apart something I'm not going to be able to put back together! Or, should I just take it in to my dealer?
Have you had below freezing weather? I park outside and with temps below 30F and with any amount of rain or snow the sprayers will freeze up. Many mornings I have one side working and the other not. They are not protected very well and water easily gets in them. I do use washer fluid rated down to -40F so that is not the problem. I have not done anything to fix it, altho a hair dryer or toothpick/paperclip might work. It does not get much engine heat up there to thaw it out during a drive either. So.... I suggest running a hot hair dryer on it one morning when it does not work to confirm if it has frozen.
Even with -40 rated washer fluid they will freeze sometimes, even at 0F. The engine compartment generates so little heat, they often wont thaw until you park and idle for a good long time, or park with the hood in the sun and out of the wind. Remember, at highway speeds the windchill capacity of the moving air is huge. My left one tends to freeze before the right for some reason. Icarus
Fortunately, you were both right. I just scraped the opening with toothpick, and it's working. I'm glad that's all it was. I went into panic mode too quickly I'm afraid. Thanks for your thoughts.
