This will only help Pa residents. When we picked up our new Prius the salesman told us about the federal tax credit and also mentioned that Pa has a $500 tax credit. I checked into both and to my surprise Pa does not have a tax credit. It has a tax rebate. It was extended through fiscal year 2006-2007 which expires June 30, 2007. If I would have waited until next year to claim it with my taxes I would have been out of luck. You must file within 6 months of the purchase. Pa DEP is administrating the program. They only have a set amount of money for this program and it is on a first come, first served basis. When the money is gone so is the program. You must be a Pa resident to qualify. I hope I attached the program description and the rebate form for those Pa Prius buyers who were not aware of the program. Good luck. It would really be nice if the dealer would give you the rebate form at settlement.[attachmentid=6653][attachmentid=6654]
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tom 6850 @ Feb 22 2007, 03:36 PM) </div> Thanks for the information. This program seems to be managed worse than California's HOV stickers. Just goes to show that crappy East Coast government is always worse than crappy West Coast government. This is only natural as we've had more time to practice.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JimN @ Feb 22 2007, 08:57 PM) </div> THANKS MUCH!!!! I just bought my prius about two months ago and never knew about this program. I will certainly tell my salesman about this so other folks do not miss out on this also! Why they don't tell me is puzzling.
This program has been in excistance since I bought my 04 Prius. It's a well kept secret, I don't know why all the Toyota dealers don't tell there customers
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(paprius4030 @ Feb 25 2007, 10:58 PM) </div> Just got my rebate today Thanks again for the help! (on a side note, have decided to hold onto my Prius)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(BethlehemPrius @ Apr 3 2007, 03:58 PM) </div> BethlehemPrius I am glad to have been some help. Also happy that you are keeping your Prius. Maybe we'll see you sometime.
It looks like the PA tax rebate is gone as of 6/30/07, then? Has anyone heard anything about the program being extended, or any new rebates/credits? Thanks!
I just checked the Pa. site and it seems to me the hybrid rebate is still open, there's another thing for Electric vehicles that closed on 6/15 but the hybrid rebate is still open.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(LynneM @ Sep 17 2007, 01:07 AM) </div> Bought my car in the middle of August. Sent in the forms and documentations. Got my $500 check from the state 4 weeks later. Blew it all on cheap booze and cheaper women. So unless something changed in the past month and a half, the PA credit is still alive and kicking.
There was another post 09/2007 that sent their tax rebate in ans rec'd it; so I went to the web site and it has not discontinued. I sent my in 28 Dec 07 and we'll see what happens!!
I live in PA and bought an 08 Prius on 12/31/07. Is this $500 from the DEP the only available tax credit/rebate? thanks
A friend of mine bought a 2007 in October, I metioned the Pa. rebate to him and he sent in the paper work and did receive his $500.00 rebate. Give it a try, it only costs 41 cents. The federal tax credit expired.
I received my $500 rebate from Harrisburg 7 Feb 08; about 4 week turnaround time. Now I can spend my rebate on accessories from the Shop.........not!!!!
