Roger that 404. My Nokian I3s said Engineered in Finland in large font, and Made in China, in small font. Can't say it matters to me though because they are darn nice tires.

How's the weather up there, Kipander?

Weather is fine,-2celsius.This has beeing warmest winter ever seen, almost none snow and at this month there should be -10 to -30 but like I said only couple minus.Could be caused by climate change or not but I chose Prius anyway:p

Like you noticed Nokian tyres make some budget class tyres in china and in indonesia I think.Engineered in Finland.I don´t have much information these off take tyres but I think they make only summer tires.
Nokian tyreshave also couple years old factory in Russia and they make premium classtyres for the Russian markets. This is "our" own and we have our engineers there all the time to make sure that production and quality is what it should be.

My coffee break is over back to work.

    K got it Tide, Thanks.
I guess I'll just have to wait for reports on the G2.
I don't want to take a hit in mileage to do better in slush. All other things being equal it seems like the WR's are just as good.

Nokian Tech support told me that the WRg2 has the same low rolling resistance as the WR. My data (9,000 miles, 3+ months on WRs) indicates WRs give an MPG improvement over both the Integrity and MXV4+ tires (at least in cold weather, see attached updated MPG spreadsheet).

Does anyone know where I can found information about rolling resistance?I´d like to compare rolling resistance of different tyres. As i told I´m working in Nokian tyres but never been interested about rolling resistance since now.I can try find out some figures about Nokian´s from work but where I can found other manufacturer figures.

Nokian introduced new tyre,Hakkapeliitta R and according web site it is are ultra low resistance tyre.
I´m happy that even tyre manufacturer´s are interested of fuel economy.

Well, this is funny. I started this thread when I put the Nokian WR G2's on my 2007 Prius. I was doing the regular 5K oil/filter/tire rotation yesterday and I do believe the tires are ready to re-tire (pardon the pun), since the tread indicator marks are pretty much now even with the treads. I have gotten a safe, comfortble 40,000 miles out of them (58K total on vehicle).

That's 40K of all weather New England driving, using my truck for the worst of the snow. I would have liked to get a few more miles out of them, but 40K isn't that bad.

Anyone have any other experiences to add? I am pretty much figuring on replacing them with the same - Nokian WR G2's 185/65 R15 is what I'm running.

    Thanks!

Nice! I'm sold on the WRs too (we have the 1st Gen). Will be trying to get WRG2s installed whenever I get the new Prius.

    Good to hear. :)

I'm running the i3s and they still have a lot of tread left with over 29k miles so I'm hoping to pull 40-50k out of them. I don't have any real bad weather conditions here unless you consider 109deg bad. So I chose the i3 over the WRs.

I had the new WR G2's put on yesterday. Again, just under 40,000 miles on the first set. Price was not bad either, $109 per tire compared to $105 per tire two years ago (185/65R15). The manager at the shop said I had 3/32 tread left, which is 1/32 more than the legal limit, so I got them at about the right time.

    Off to another 40K!

I put them on my miata, then my pt cruiser. now my prius. I bought it salvaged and found the 1578 miles one the OEMs to ok for florida driving, but if you have black ice at anytime they are saviors!

My uncle has now put them on his Big Butt Buick Le Sabre and for 145 a tire to include insurance for road hazards he is a happy camper. at Jack Williams auto. BTW, I will sell my new old Goodyears.

BTW big hello to MD in MO from MD in PA. I have been reading maney post. Thanks for the help over the years!:cheer2:

I have over 55k on my Nokian WRg2s, installed 11 months ago, still with adequate tread, and much better traction than I ever got with the Integrities.

Is there a good place online to order the Nokians? I didn't see them on tirerack.com.

    Thanks.
