Just curious when you make a copy, do you need DVD-R or DVD+R and a dual layer DVD. That would be a 9.4GB disc? Thanks.
Can you throw a DVD movie in the player. What will come up on teh screen? I will try when I get home! Also has anyone upgraded there NAV to the newer Ver 6 ? Was it successful? Where would you get that from?
I would also like to know if there is an update to the NAV DVD. Since I got my Prius 2008 in January, I have used the navigation three times. Twice it was off by ¼ mile or more. This does not make me very happy.
bump i just took the DVD europe ou of my dvd slot and its a 2004 DVD version 2004-2005 ver2 ( so no ver 4.2 or 5,1 or 7.2 ) its UDF/ISO 9660 mode 1 DVD doubel layer .. not sure if i need a DVD-r or DVD+R i think a DVD-R because its a older device and DVD+R is more used now a days. anyone already made the copy and dit it work? i am wundering if i can take the nav files from the 2007-2008 nav DVD and puth them/copy/overwrite with the files from 2004-2005 and burn it to have a working DVD
I pulled my wife's NAV DVD from her 2008 and copied it onto a DVD+R and stuck the copy in my 2006. Everything works great. Made 3 coasters before I switched to another computer with a different drive and I used NERO to make the copies. Others have said they used Alcohol 120% to make their copies. Best thing about using my wife's DVD is that the annoying "I Agree" screen goes away - YAY!!!
the 2006 and 2008 models are the same for pre2006 models you can not just copy the disc i not complety sure buth the disc you made wil not work in a 2005 model you no anyone? so you can give it a try
For anyone interested,A really awesome DVD burning program at no charge, visit CNET.COM and search for DVD SHRINK, it uses Nero for the actual burn process, you can also back-up any of your favorite Movies. What I really like about this program it does not matter what disc format you use it will put the disc in the correct format whenit burns it. What I am trying to say: Example my DVD recorder on my TV set does not play DVD+R, but when I am done burning a DVD on a DVD+R via my computer, EVRY DVD recorder or player in the house willl read the disc, no problems.
