I'm a pretty cynical (Brooklyn, NY-born) curmudgeon and it takes a lot to make me feel giddy. I got my new Prius over a month ago and would have though that I'd have gotten past the "new car joy" by now. Not so! This past weekend, my wife was sick and I stayed with her to take care of her until she felt better. I must confess, however, that I found myself thinking (more than once) of excuses to brave the cold and drive to the store for "necessities." I just love driving this car and at my age (61 yrs), I am amazed that I get so jazzed up about taking it for a spin. People are tired of hearing my talk about it, my milage, the gadgets, etc. It really is fun to drive...and the car I gave up was a 2006, red Dodge Charger! I'd rather drive my Prius any day over the Charger! I sure hope my wife doesn't begin getting jealous of my latest love-interest. If she does, I'll have to go out and buy her one.
Here in conservative KS, you can't cancel your infidelity by finding a new love for your spouse... Glad to hear you like the car, hope to have mine soon.
So good it feels like a sin. Congrats on the new wheels and good luck with the wife. Let us know which trim level you get her.
Show her how much you care by turning over your beloved Prius to her then buy yourself the new one. We owners can be an insufferable lot. It seems to come with the territory. Enjoy the car & welcome.
I thought from the title it was going to be a story of leaving it in D on a slightly uphill driveway, getting out to open the garage door, and having the front bumper hit you in the knees! Glad it's just an emotional impact... . _H*
