Ditto. Has anyone a recommendation for a pad or cushion to put on the driver's seat to improve the "situation"? (Driving an '05)

 

I'd want mine to have the plug-in option. In fact I'm trying to find a resonable price to do just that 10K would be ok with me.

Basically it's a larger capacity battery, usually Lithium that allows you to go more in the all electric mode. If you go down a long hill are area it can store all that energy. If not you can plug it in at night off peak and charge gently and slowly in just a few hours with no extra powr plants built or any extra pollution. 100+ mpg is usual on this setup for up to 60 miles. After that you only get your normal 50 or so mpg.

On a 10-20 mile trip by driving smart like I do I could beat my best of 84 mpg and get 200-300 mpg . Oh I'd love to have that option. The US now imports over 60% of our oil.

Who decided that the passenger side would unlock everything but the drivers side only unlocks the driver door?

Unless there is a fix around this? I have been mega frustrated over this for 2 years.

Check in your owners manual, it tells you how set it to always unlock all four doors.

i'm sure as men you and I have little fear when walking towards our car, but imaging if you were a women or girl or old lady, if you unlock the driver's door would you want all the doors unlocked, then someone hiding on the other side of the car where you couldn't see could get in the passenger side and hijack you easier.
its a safety feature, that's why 99% of cars only unlock the driver's door when you push unlock once, you have to push unlock twice to unlock all the doors.
here's my solution:
while walking to the car just put your hand in the passenger motion sensor to unlock all doors, also pulling on the rear hatch handle will also unlock all 5 doors, then you passengers can get in with ease.

why is every lazy baby on this forum obsessed with electric seats?

i had power seats on my avalon & camry and love the manual seats on the prius, you guys need to sit in a 10 year old car and see how the motor wears out over time, it takes 10 minutes to adjust the seats in an old car cause it moves so slowly.

manual seats will work perfectly for 20 years. simplicity is the name of the reliability game, each stupid thing you add to a car is just another thing that will break down over time.

 

Probably been said before, but a few things I would change....all in the instrument panel!

I would change it to a blue color, or red, I think these are easier on the eyes at night than green.

More INFO! I like a tach (even in an automatic) and regular battery level, and especially an engine temp reading, etc.

I guess more of a wish list would include RCA outputs for the radio so you could easily hook up an amp.

Finally, the GPS built in is fairly cool, but I liked my old Garmin Nuvi 360 better, it had 3d and auto zoom and could read the street names (I thihk the Prius only does major highways).

Maybe that one will be fixed with a new DVD sometime.....

Besides that, I really have nothing to suggest, it is a little car with a lot of luxery type items, I have the package 5, heck blutooth, nav, backup camera, etc. my friends are impressed with how much technology is packed into this little car.

 

My answer is that Toyota would actually listen to their customers and Follow up on their suggestions within a reasonable amount of time. There are so many good suggestions that I would like to see all of them get a shot at becoming reality!

 

I read somewhere that the human eye is more sensitive to the color green and it's various shades than any other color. This is also supposed to be why most night-vision units are green. Anyone else heard this too?

I too would like some actual gauges, especially the coolant temperature as well.

 

OK - how about door mirrors that fold in when you power off ( like the audi TT)- would certinly help me get it in my narrow garage !

 

The rear window wiper should be center not on the side.

The cruise control should not have its setting erased when you slow down, so you don’t have to re-enter it each traffic light.

Auto-lock of doors with auto unlock in an accident.

Heated outside mirror glass, with power fold in for tight parking.

This business of going to a dealer to program the car for a new fob is ridiculous. Why can't the MFD do that?

 

1. Moon roof

2. run flat tires

3. power outlet in the rear seat and cargo area

4. Abilty to switch to battery only mode

O well, I guess there is more than 1 thing I would change.
