I have been in the market for a prius for awhile now. I want to get a package 6 touring. I recently saw a used 07 package 5 touring with leather upgrade. The car has 10,500 miles on it. The dealer will sell me this car for 24,500 dollars... when i took my car in for trade ( 2000 bmw 3 series with 200,000 miles, they offered me first 2000 then 4000 for trade ) my price for the 07 package 5 with leather seats and 10,500 miles will be 20,500 plus my trade(4000) in plus $180 dealer prep plus 5%tax..... Is this a good deal or bad deal?
If I'm reading your numbers correctly, your probably about $3000 away from a new 2008 Package #6 Touring with 0 miles on it. What will they do for you on the new one your interested in?
I was told by the sales man that toyota does not discount these cars since they were in such high demand. He said the best deal i could get on a package 6 touring was $29,500 that is $5000 more than the used package 5 they have with added leather interior. I dont know if either are a good deal.... ?
JacksonMs, check out the info on CarBuyingTips.com new car buying guide, avoiding dealer scams, new cars, used car buying then contact the Internet Sales Managers to find out what they will do for you. As gas prices rise dealers firm up the Prius' price.
MANY dealer will negociate big time, I got $2500 off the MSRP on my prius earlier this year with 0% financing, and that was before toyota starting offering rebates. Just a side note but you will miss the performance and stability of your 2000 BMW over the prius BIG time, make sure its worth it to you but if you have 200K on it already you must drive a lot! Bottom line is you are not getting a good deal on the used 2007, you can shop new and check out at least the 10 closest dealers to you, some one out there is hurting for a sale. Best thing to do with your BMW is sell it to a private party yourself.
