IOW, the Prius is nearly 14% of Toyota passengar car sales. More at http://www.toyota.com/about/news/corporate/2008/01/03-1-sales.html
Well it is still only 7% of total Toyota and Lexus sales (which was 2.6 M for 2007), but it is poositive to see it making up such a large % of total sales. Total hybrid sales were 277 750, which is more than 10% of total fleet (I would expect Prius and Camry to make up the bulk of those). I think with $100 per barrel oil, smaller and more economical car sales will increase as % of total fleet sales fro all manufacturers this year.
the real stats are what was Toyota's percentage of hybrids sold overall??? 60%??...70%??....80%??... why is Toyota selling so many and others are selling so few?
thats amazing more then 10% of all toyota and lexus combined car sales a hybrid!!! nice! and the HSD from toyota/lexus is the best outthere!
I'm waiting for Tripp to post the shiny graphics, I think they come from GreenCarCongress. That has the total hybrid sales, so at that point you can do the math.
ok article says about 350 k... Toyota had 277 k... so they had about 80% of the hybrid market... about what i thought
Isn't it obvious Dave? The more hybrids Toyota sells, the more they can fool everyone they believe in hybrids and can sell more Tundras. They are tricking people way from other dealers through lies and propaganda if you ask me. Seems pretty obvious . Honestly though, I have wonder the same myself. As the number of models have increased, the percentage of toyota's sales has not declined as I would have thought it originally would.
