Autoblog editor gets a Prius to review. Here's the link. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/01/in-the-autoblog-garage-2007-toyota-prius-touring/
His opinion was not what I expected it to be - it won him over, naturally, when he actually drove it for a while.
Great review. I saw a lot of myself in his text as I went from indifferent to the Prius when it was launched to in love once I actually sat in it and took one for a drive.
He even got the terminology right. Must have been a lurking around here for a while! Good un-biased article.
Well the article was interesting, sorta mirrors my thoughts on the Prius before and after I drove one; or rather decided to cast aside my biases and see what all the fuss was about. What was really eye-opening though was the last hour I spent reading the comments to that blog article. Not only are people still seriously misinformed about this car, but the cognitive triple-flips that people go through to justify their dislike of the Prius border on a mental disorder. I know we've heard them all at least a dozen times, but still... I really liked the one about the 1987 Olsmobile being a bettter choice than a Prius... my god I wonder do people even use 10% of their brains, as claimed?
Isn't it funny: When the cost of gas goes up, the objections to the Prius go down. Unfortunately, the inverse is also true.
Am another owner with a similar change of view after a test drive...had a vaguely negative opinion of the car before I drove it, checked one out on the advice of my GF, and bought it the same day (after much web research the previous evening, some of which led here)
