    I'm James from Midland, Texas

I don't have a prius but I have a Honda that gets 65mpg city miles. It's a motorcycle and I drive it about once a month.

I thought y'all might appreciate that.

A little about me, I like to go Hunting, Fishing, off roading, racing both on the street and at the track, I work in the oil field.

Almost every weekend I go to San Antonio (350 miles one way) to see my long distance girlfriend and her son that live there. It's usually a lonely trip coming home because I don't wanna leave. Its funny passing people on I 10 where the speedlimit is 80, but I usually do 90.

    -James

Well at least you keep the stereotype alive.

You have a problem with me? If so, then say it.

What stereotype? This is a site about good MPG right? I may not have a hybrid but 65mpg is good.

No, it is irrelevant when you only drive/ride it once a month. ;)

You have a few antagonizing posts and you're already getting angry and ready to put up your dukes and rumble like a 50's style boxer?

You still didn't answer my question about the stereotype and I'm pissed off becuase someone said I have a low IQ

I would drive the Honda Rebel more each month if it was more fun to drive and if I didn't have the Kawasaki. also the Honda has a top speed of about 60mph which isn't safe for the highway when you're on a 250lb bike and everyone is passing you in 4x4 trucks at 75 or more.

I'll be nice and leave the stereotype explaination alone.

Let me ask you this James Pritchard, why did you sign up on a Prius forum and create the sig you did and post up a thread about your mods on other cars? If was simply to antagonize then you are barking up the wrong tree. If it was to flaunt your vehicles then again, this is not the forum for it because many people here have owned or currently own a more impressive and faster list. If you simply came here to learn more and not troll then I apologize for reading you wrong.

hey i may be out of place being that this is my first post on the community but, i think you are being a little hard on this guy. as you can tell he is as concerned with the enviroment as you and me seeing that he owns two motorcycles that get 30-65 mpg in town. im not saying this because i am a fellow Texan but as a fellow outdoorsman and one who strives to protect the enviroment.

agian i understand i am probably out of place saying this but i also think that i am justified.

Nope. It's all about the trolls.

If you truely care about the environment I would suggest taking some classes at the local college so you can learn how to lessen it's degradation. Hunting, fishing and spending time in it does not make one a good steward. There is a lot more to it. Trust me I know. ;)

I've worked hard since Junior High and still work extremely hard in the oil field about 70-80 hours per week. I think I'm entitled to my nice cars. Even if they aren't as nice as a Ferrari or the Z06.

I posted the thread about other mods because that was a section for mods on vehicles.

To learn more: I don't know much about how a hybrid works, i doubt that I'll ever buy one, but if I can have the chance to share about the MPG I get and how I try to protect the environment, then why not do it on a hybrid website?

If I had known some people would be as pompus as you, then i would have found a different way to do it, after all, I'm only one man and I obviously can't drive all those vehicles at once.

I'm big into outdoors thats why I go camping hunting and fishing when I don't have to work, most of it done around San Antonio so I can see the girlfriend and my future step son and take them with me while I'm down there.

So clue me in on this stereotype because you obviously don't know who I am or what kind of person I am, you judge me from what you read on a website. Just like i can look at your myspace and see what I can find out about you.

Happy New Years to everyone else except Justin. Bad New Year to you.

Hunting and fishing does make me a good provider for the family I hope to someday have.

Also, it's better than dealing drugs and pimpin women. Like I said, I'm cowboy, even listen to country music and everything.

Jesus even fished so don't tell me something Jesus did is bad.

I'm sorry James. I don't feel we are on the same educational level and therefore and arguing would be detrimental.

I'm well aware of population ecology and how it effects species population dynamics (the Kaibab Plataue is a good place to study anthropogenic effects on deer populations and the carrying capacity of the land). :)

Call me pompus if you like, I don't have a problem with that at all. I do have a problem with trolls and that is how you came across with your posts and sig. We see quite a few that come to this board from other automotive sites simply to act like fools and start trouble. If I have painted you wrong then I apologize.....

If you truely would like to learn more about the environment and anthropogenic effects on ecosystems and human health hit me up and I'd be happy to talk to you about it. Maybe your class has taught you something different than mine has. :) My reason for offering this dialog is that you feel you are "entitled" to drive "nice" cars because you work so hard. I would argue that you are not entitled to drive cars that negatively effect the health of any organism (humans especially) and create unecessarry costs to the economy because they get terrible fuel milage and pollute heavily. Every organism should have a right to a healthy environment (if there is such a thing as a right) and should you chose to drive a gas guzzling vehicle with poor emissions output then you are violating that right and costing our nation in the form of environmental cleanup and in health care costs. I never used to make that connection when I was out racing but I learned a lot since then. Maybe I can help point you to some matieral that can help you learn what i did. :)

I've taken the following classes in this particular field:(I only state these so you better understand where my knowledge base comes from. This is not some brag list because there are people on this forum that would blow my list away.)

Wildlife Law Enforcement (2 semesters of a 12 unit class with certification)
Field Methods and Ecology (3 unit class and collecting data in the field)
    Geology (3 unit class)
    Physical Geography (4 unit class)
    Biology (4unit class)
    Botany (4 unit class)
    Zoology (4 unit class)
    Oceanography (3 unit class)
    Natural Resource Conservation (3unit class)
Interdicsiplinary: The Environment and the Human Impact (3 unit class)
Interdisciplinary: The Sierra Nevada (3 unit class)
Current Topics in Biology (3 unit Film class on the environment and GMO foods)
Vernal Pools and the California Prarrie (field class)
    Wildflower Identification (Field class)
Coastal Habitats of Central California (Field class)
Mono Lake & Great Basin (Field class)
Point Reyes National Seashore Coastal Habitat (Field class)
Field Geology of Yosemite and Eastern Sierra (Field class)
High Sierra and White Mountain Alpine Ecosystems (Field class)

For a real laugh you can check the documentaries I've watched this semester alone: http://priuschat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40892&highlight=volcano

Have a great night James. Hope you're all healed up from the accident.
