DICE kits now support browsing from the radio!

So... does this work with any MP3 player, or just iPods?

What do we do if we want to upgrade? This would be for a 2005 and I've had the DICE since June '06.

 

This after I just got my replacement.

Planning on ordering this new kit as soon as it is available for my new 08.

Question though, Ive read about people having mounted the 'dock' into the under radio storage cabinet, but can not seem to find any pictures of this. I'm wondering if this is in fact the case, can I buy the extra $50 dock option and mount it horizontaly inside the storage case and slide the ipod (touch in this case) into the dock from the front? Also, will it work with the Ipod touch or will it not support it correctly in that position?

 

Damn! Wonder if there is something available out there that would make this possible :\

Friend of mine has a dock designed to work this way specifically mounted in his glove compartment of a diff car and I was hoping to setup something similar.

 

As the DICE locks the ipod screen functionally, it just seems the slickest way to have it interface. As you said it won't bang around, good solid dock connection, cable won't wear out (i've had several get damaged at the cable/connector joint over time).

It is not a big deal at all obviously, just a preference thing. Thanks for the quick response Hopefully we can order these new units asap!

 

Vagabond - good news about the new system. I just purchased a unit for my wife's '08 Prius and am wondering if I should install it now or wait for the upgrade plan to be announced? If I do install it now, will I be penalized for having installed it when I want to upgrade?

I bought my DICE about a month and a half ago, and am experiencing lock-up on my 2005 package 3. I have to select disk 5 and switch from track 1 to track 2 and back to fix the lock-up. have you ever heard of this? Do i have the wrong switch settings or something or is just a bad DICE unit?

 

any update on the sliver units availability?

 

If you're playing music by album, what happens when you hit the last song on the album? will it just stop like the ipod does when you're listening to it normally, or will it go to the next album?
