OK, I just need a little bit of clarification. I bought my 2007 Prius in April, just after it was cut down to the $787. Do I get that credit every year that I own the vehicle, going forward, or is it just a one time credit?
Shame on you for pursing the alimighty dollar at the expense of others. People who buy a Prius to get the tax credit are not true believers. In fact, buying one for the write-off makes them somewhat of a Leona Helmsley type person.... "We don't pay taxes. Only the liittle people in gas guzzling cars pay taxes......." Stick a sock in it and pay your taxes. The government needs your money so that it can help others.
Yes, you can file. The form may even show a credit. Still, you will not receive any benefit unless you are actually paying taxes. In other words, the credit has value only as against an actual tax obligation.
I'm guessing this was a joke. But, I have wanted one since they were first released to further my greener efforts.
If you purchased it before October (I believe) you will get some kind of tax credit. If after, you do not.
