Toshiba announced a large Lithium Ion battery w/10 year life span for construction equipment (ex. forklifts) that charges to 90% capacity in 5 minutes, to be sold in March. It could be available for hybrid cars in 2010. Link==> http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/techinnovations/2007-12-12-toshiba-rechargeable-battery_N.htm
that would be cool if it accelerated the intro of EV's into the market, but i like the option of providing my own charging options so unless it was a dual rate charge system (that would need two interfaces) one that was slow, overnight at home, standard 15 amp etc along with a high current quick charge that would be used while out on the road, i am all for that. however, just having the one like the RAV 4 EV for instance would not work well with me *edit* the link is not working for me. what it say?
