Hi Everyone, In Ohio, we had our first bit of snow since putting on the new 196/60-15 Goodyear ComforTreds from the OEM Integrities. The results are amazing. Last year the traction control would come on and I would crawl out at 5 mph onto the main road from a snow covered side street. This year I had no trouble starting from a snowing road giving the car normal gas. If the traction control came on it was a blink without shutting down the power to the whole car. Braking was equally impressive. From a snow perspective it makes the Prius a great car to drive in moderate snow/ice covered roads. The new tires have dropped the mileage, but my winter safety is more important than a few mpg. Just thought others in the North would like to know.
In Colorado urban environment, first snow and ice this winter, the Comfortreds make the Prius a great winter car. The few times that traction control activates, it performs extremely well. I am very happy to be rid of the Integritys, I thought they they were bad at 5000 miles, but at 25,000 they were dangerous on dry roads.
