    There's a whiteboard in a common area here at work that someone has divided into two halves: "Best Electronics Gifts of 2008" and "Worst Electrnics Gifts of 2008"

    It's been a lot of fun as people walk by and add their comments. So I thought I would do the same thing here. Please note that the items do not have to come from 2008. This is just a list of things people don't want (or want). And they are not all real

    With the fast loader cartridge they weren't all that bad. Crashed less often than windows ME!!

    Anything with a monthly service contract/fee/obligation.

    This already includes many personal electronics items (and I suspect more and more if their manufacturers have anything to say about it).

    Saying no to monthly fees is a way to financial strength.

    Total up the costs: For Netflix...and to keep the iPhone hummin'...and internet connectivity at home/the landline...and let's not forget cable/satellite TV...and of course, the energy used to manufacture/distribute all of it in the first place, and the cost to us of the electronics items themselves, and (on the other end of the cycle) disposing/selling them, and what these purchases will eventually add to the waste-stream...all so the manufacturer can make a buck on my need to watch something on A&E (is that still a channel?)

    That's...how many hundreds of Dollars monthly? For...what...?!? In my case, I was appalled, and took measures accordingly.
