For the thanksgiving holiday I rented a 2007 Prius from Hertz at the San Francisco airport. I know it was a 2007 due to the car registration. The car did not have a back up camera! I personally drive a package #1 (as that's what my salesperson told me I bought) and it has a camera as I thought all '07 models did. I also noticed the car had a CD selection on the dashboard, but nothing for aux/MP3. So my question is: Do I drive a package two or was this '07 unusual for not having those two features? BTW, I put almost 600 miles on the car, drove through Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, and she climbed the mountains with no problems. Not to mention getting 47.7 MPG for the entire trip, which I thought was good for all the climbing!!! Lastly they let me drop the car off at Reno airport w/o an additional fee. Brad Tampa Bay Florida
niiice. We got 31.x mpg on our Cobalt (Yosemite, LV, LA, SD and back to SF over 2,700 miles). I thought the backup camera was an option on most option packages. So if it was a base model, it wouldn't have it.

Think of it as a "package #0". When I was shopping for my 2007 Prius I actually had one dealership try to sell me the base model as a package #1. I wanted the cheapest package I could get that had the backup camera (something I consider essential on the Prius). I was excited to find that this dealership had a package #1 as everywhere else I had checked only had package #2s. Needless to say I wasn't pleased to find out it was actually the base model they were trying to unload on me. I walked straight out of that place and hung up on sales manager when he tried to call me again.
Base models are usually what go into what's called "fleet allocations", and thus are sometimes a little harder to find at dealers. That's what my '04 is, and I'm very glad for it. . _H*
