Tiny Fuel Particles Cause Heart Attacks, Group Says: Reuters GENEVA (Reuters) - Tiny air-born particles released by burning fossil fuels are reducing the average human life span across Europe and North America by eight months, a leading research body said on Monday.
PriusChat, Internet - Evan Fusco, renowned emergency room doctor and Prius owner has publicly proclaimed that the introduction of high-efficiency and zero-emission vehicles has and will continue to prevent heart attacks. I was thinking about that the other day actually. I was sitting behind some big truck pumping exhaust into my vents while the guy behind me was breathing easy. It's not fair I tell ya!
way to go Evan... the guy from CBS wants to talk to you about the tax money you are taking away from hospitals not collecting from heart patents..
I think about that every time I get behind a frick'n diesel. *waves hand in front of highly-offended nose* One more reason why everybody should have a Prius! Share the love, baby!
oh great then we WA state (and OR too!!) residents are in real trouble. currently Mt Saint Helens is spewing 250 tons of pollutants into the air daily. it has gained the distinction of being the #1 poluting source in the state. total industry polution only adds up to about 150 tons a day.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveinOlyWA\";p=\"54753)</div> Yeah, but the wind probably blows with at least some westerly component most of the time so you are safe Dave. My 2nd cousins in Pasco however! And the lighter stuff is heading for Tony in Chicago as we speak! ;-) Tony, use that recirc button on the steering wheel when behind the stinky diesels! I pulled up behind a city bus at a red light a few weeks ago, about gagged me before I could push recirc.
well ok. i admit that the wind has blown in my direction only twice and that was months ago. but the particulate is expected to travel 3-5,000 miles on most days...
